The farce that is FIFA/uefa

Can't believe there isn't a thread dedicated to the morans that run the game we love.

I'm sure there will be a continual use of this thread.

For me their the most backward sports body I can think of. Not innovative in anyway, behind the times on racism, took over 10 years to catch up with cricket in terms of using technology. Now finally they ve finally agreed to trail disappearing spray for the referee to mark 10 yards for free kicks. 5 years ago I seen this used in Argentina. So seems they ve pulled their finger out on this one.

It takes too long. Should just follow the rugby route & move the ball ten yards closer to the goal for every encroachment. Except this time they should actually enforce it.

From that video it looks like it takes far less time than the ref pacing out, then pointing to the correct spot after the wall stood 1 yard closer to the ball, then them slowly shuffling backwards under his instruction, then inching forward again when he turns round, then him pointing to the spot again...

The chain gang! I'd love that.

It would be hilarious. Although probably a health and safety issue as no doubt Ishmael Miller would trip over the chain and injure himself whilst running on to the pitch.

Sorry, perhaps "loping" is more appropriate!

^ This. The mistake they made last time with this law was that it was a mandotory yellow card if you enforced it. This meant that a ref ran the risk of having to send players off because of it.

If they'd just let them use it when required with no further punishment (except in specific cases) it would have been good. I'd also have it so that the ball could be moved in any direction. Imagine a free kick taker being able to move the ball backwards or left and right so that it was in a better position for him to have a shot on goal!!!

Footballers would just surround the ref when that happened though, and they'd never have the balls to send them off if they needed booking for it. Rugby players respect the officials so the ten yard thing works well, but it would be chaos for every free kick if it were applied to football.

They could just spray them with stringy line paint in a can.

Most people blame Blatter but I believe it is the few wealthy clubs that are the root cause of most of problems in modern football and Blatter is simply in collusion with them.

The bullying the Refs, diving, benches full of international quality players who seldom get a game, the widening of the gap between top and bottom clubs, the lack of commitment by players to International football, the demise of the FA Cup, the ever growing influence of the Sponsors, are all things that the few wealthy and influential clubs want and Blatter is never going to go against them.

Bale got seven bookings for diving at Spurs? That's mad. Januzaj has got three in half a season, too. They really should introduce stronger retrospective punishments for players that are picking up so many bookings for cheating.

The problem is "proving" a dive, look at Januzaj weekend just gone there was contact so it wasnt a dive, but a time penalty would hinder a team in them circumstances. Maybe suspended for the next game then 2 games for another booking and so on. Maybe even introduce a different coloured card for such instances where a panel after the game reviews it and decides if it is a dive

Half time rosies for anyone who gets booked for diving?

Just allow tackling again. Problem solved

I would like to see barging the Keeper brought back, along with one substitute only. The game has got far too soft.
