Yohan Benalouane

Might have a Fox-Watson rehabilitation?

Happy to give him a chance but I thought he was crap. And since then we've signed Chema.
We signed him when we needed CB cover last season but that was all he was needed for. Pleased he scored against the sheepshaggers though.

I thought he was alright, but I expect him to end up in the bomb squad alongside the likes of Pantilimon, Yacob, Hefele and Clough with a view to being moved on in January.

We have 7 centre backs on the books and realistically only need 5, Benalouane and Hefele are the obvious two for the chop.

A bit surprised by his fitness and his concern for the game. I thought he was a goner and that he would play accordingly.

Did well when he came on , We really do have too many decent CB for a Championship team , Someone needs to go.

Sabri does seem to like Yohan. Likely for his commitment to winning battles and being good at heading/clearing his lines.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone came in for him tbh, and we'd be smart to let him go.

Don't see anyone but Dynamo Dresden wanting Hefele. But I suspect he'll just milk the club for his good wages then return home.

Now Hefele is fit, we might be able to find some club gullible enough to take him on loan for a bit. No one is signing him from us on a permanent deal though.

Don't know why people so keen to get rid of Benalouane. He's always looked a good tough defender to me. Did well when he came on today against top opposition despite being out for months. He's good back up and I hope he stays. Heffele, however is another matter....

Dawson, Figgy, Worrall, Chema.

The simple answer is we're overstocked and he costs money. If Benalouane comes back into the squad then one of the above four need to go.

Who you picking?

Dawson to go into join Cohen would just make too much sense they will probably end up selling worral

It's hard to find players who are prepared to sit 4th or 5th choice, but also be up to standing in if called on.

If Sabs happy with him & he#ll play that role fair play.

Worrall and Toby you'd think will be here next season.

Chema obviously been linked with returning to Spain.

This will surely be Dawson's last year.

So yeah, I guess I can see why he might get kept.

Although if Chema does leave and Dawson retires, i'd rather identify a new CB, a left-footed one ideally.

We don’t, tbf, ask our CBS to do much with the ball other than give it to Watson so I can see the appeal of Benalouane.

Good point. After all, Chema appears to have picked up a muscle strain, and so we only need Dawson to break down again (which, given his age, is always a possibility) and/or a suspension, then we're potentially down to bare bones again.

Saw Benalouane in this paint balling picture, thinking I bet some of em thought twice about shooting at him.

Got me thinking about his prospects of playing next season. We can’t predict how his injury will respond, but I always quite liked him as a no nonsense defender, had a commanding presence. With Daws and Hef as the only other option I think he could still have a role to play this season. It will be up to whoever gets in and performs best should get the nod, but you can guarantee this guy will be chomping at the bit to get a chance. We may still need another CH to really challenge given the injury / fitness concerns and of course if Worrall goes we look vulnerable in this vitally important position.
He must have gone through a really tough period mentally with that injury, He’s made of strong stuff.

I would assume we would let him leave if there's any interest given his likely wages for a player who is unlikely to get many games, but interest is likely to be thin on the ground.

He's a better player than Hefele and probably now Dawson who's lost his pace, so won't be bomb squaded and will act as a backup to the main two (or three) centre backs.

If we’d signed him from Ligue 2 and he was on 6k a week, he’d be useful backup.

But he’s on an absolute bomb apparently, which means he’s a waste of money we haven’t got

And he will stick it out in the periphery just like he did at Leicester playing in their u23s.

I think the only reason he came is we took on that hefty wage of his reported to be 20-25k

Classic Forest signing.

Premier League club: "Do you want this playing rotting in our reserves?"
Forest: "Is he any good?"
Premier Leaugue club: "Not for us, but probably for you."
Forest: "How much?"
Premier League club: "Free to a good home, but as he's free we wouldn't pay contribution to wages if you weren't in a position to match his wages."
Forest: "That's reasonable, we will pay the player the wages he wants - thank you"

He's on 30k a week according to Football Manager!
