Winter 2023 Transfer Window

incident

Viv Anderson
I know we aren't allowed to question Coops but I'm questioning Coops:

I think a lot depends on how the rest of the day plays out.

Assuming the deals we're expecting go ahead - so Shelvey/Felipe/Navas coming in, and Cook/O'Brien/Biancone/Cafu/Taylor/Smith all either heading out or not registered due to injury - then we've got a free spot in the 25.

If we don't end up signing either Angelo or Brynhildsen (or someone else unexpected) to take that last space, then I don't entirely hate the idea of a short term relatively low wage deal to pad out the squad.

The only thing I am upset at only one is the lack of quick centre halfs. However this is one of the most contempt I’ve been at a transfer window. It’s usually far more mind boggling than this. If Navas, Felipe and Shelvey happen it’s a good window even with Ayew. Without a pacey centre back it’s not been a top window but again I’m not complaining at all. If someone said to me this time last year we’d have Lodi, Felipe and Navas I would have told you to feck off.

Felipe is quick.
I looked it up earlier. His top speed is 34.4 mph
The quickest ever Premier League player is Kyle Walker, at 37.8 mph.

Are you being for real? All I have is what I have seen him play and never came across as quick. However if he is quick I’m happeh!! What is Worrall and McKenna by interest?

Sauce salad?
I don't know a lot about Ayew or his style of play/record at all.

But just wondering why the hate/ disappointment?

I get that he's 33 but if Coops knows and wants him and he's a loan/ 1 year deal?
He was a decent player but that feels like a long time ago and at a lower level. Cooper knows him inside out so that's good - otherwise it's quite a comedown from some of the younger names we've been linked with.

Felipe registered a sprint *this season* in the UCL at 34kmph. He is fast.

If that’s right it’s very quick. Usain Bolt’s top speed was only 37.6 kph!

Not quite....

Bolt was clocked at 44.72km/h, which is 27.8mph.

At the record-winning event, Usain Bolt’s average ground speed was 37.58km/h, whilst reaching a top speed of 44.72km/h in the 60-80m stretch
