Q - So who do we need?
A - No one.

In all seriousness though, as it stands, providing Aurier comes in at some point over the next few days we’ve got a squad with cover for every position.

Gustavo Scarpa may well arrive in January and Brandon Aguilera is scheduled to return too so it may be a case of a couple of permanent leavers with not a great deal coming in.

Even if Aguilera can get enough points for a work permit and arrives in the country in January, my guess is he either plays exclusively in the U21s or goes out on loan to a lower league club - the step up from the (lower end of the) Costa Rican League to the Premier League is going to be way too big for him to be in first team contention this season.

Given we were after Batshuayi, another striker in Jan feels likely. Unless Taiwo really hits form before then, maybe.

Yeah, I'm positive the recruitment team will be looking at a top drawer striker for Jan incase Taiwo hasn't hit his stride by then

Wouldn't be surprised if we are still on the hunt for a pacey CB too.

The money is there, we know where the likely weaknesses are and so the recruitment team now have 4 months to have a few top quality options in the back pocket if we need them.

thatll be the difference going forward, we played catch up this window and had to build a squad in a few weeks essentially, now we actually get a chance to see how they get on and will only need to tinker with it.

Never mind signing a striker maybe we should play one for a change.
Yep. No point writing off Awoniyi, Dennis and Surridge when they aren't getting any real chance to prove themselves.

I hope the "playing with no striker" experiment is put to bed after today. It doesn't work, and just comes across as trying to shoehorn Lingard, Johnson and MGW into the same XI.

It had to be the end of it, Coops needs to man up and drop one of the 3 up top.

I have a lot of faith in the strikers we have, I really think we have goals in the squad if we actually play them.

I kind of get it for away games in a sense but I'm with you in all honesty, especially at home versus arguably the worst team we will play this season just seems unambitious.

It's a bit of a weird thing to suggest making any signings in January when you've signed 23 players in the Summer but signing 23 players was also pretty f***ing weird. I think pragmatically, it also depends on where we are in January. Strangely enough, we have like six league games before the January window. (2 in October, 2 in November and 2 in December).

If the other teams pull away in the next six games, I wouldn't want to gamble with the club's finances by chancing it in what is notoriously a very overpriced window, especially if it has a very minimal chance of success. But if we're out of the relegation places and showing that we do have a shot at staying up, you have to go for it.

Depending on Moussa's situation, I think looking at a quick centre-back, even if it was a Premierleague quality version of Steve Cook. I think we're missing a Zinckernagel-type player that can link the midfield/attack centrally (but not Zinckernagel because we couldn't register him and he's not at this level) and I do think that we need a striker that we could rely on and feel confidence in being able to score goals.

Also, this goes without saying but beg Tottenham for Spence, even if it's on loan.

Obviously there would have to be some outgoings as well, but definitely would need to be a quality > quantity window for sure. Kind of like we did last January.

Can we have a striker please, Bob?

A bloody good one.

We have a striker with a track record of scoring at this level and he’s on the bench so it’s pointless us signing another.

Honestly, wouldn't be that far fetched to end up signing Ronaldo at this point lmao.
I could just see Marinakis being bat shit enough to do it.
