Who is Nottingham Forest's Kasabian?

Just to elaborate on this.

I've mentioned on this forum before my friend Andrew, who live's in Rhiwbina, and his dad who's with the WRU.

This is his dad:

When I used to go down I was about ten miles from Rhiwbina and at the time Wales was rugby mad and top of the rugby world, and football was like punk rock, it was an act of defiance against parents and the establishment.

Cardiff & Swansea were both shite at the time and they couldn't support Liverpool because Liverpool = North Wales, so Clough gave them the team to follow.

We were the team every anti-rugby southern Welshman supported in that age group.

I spent the summer after our first European cup selling photocopies of our teams autographs to kids round there, including many from Oakdale.
How did you manage all of that knowledge in 26 years of life?

Sergio lived opposite me in Maida Vale & I got to know him a bit. At a BBQ I asked him which one had the trial for Forest, "Yeah that was me, but I kept my Leicester socks on". He's a good lad & a proper football fan. Not up his own arse like some I've come across.

Darryl Hunt was a ex bandmate & although being from Devon/Dorset area got the Forest bug when he moved to Notts. Darryl has certainly put in the miles, home & away, year after year. Not some fairweather fan. He also dragged Phil Chevron along, who also got the bug. I remember standin on the grass mound at Plough Lane just before a Wembley fin
al, no-one wanting to get injured by those rough boys from Wimbledon.

Despite what Sammy says, JDB specifically mentioned us in an interview on R6 just last week in regard to Australia being the goal music on FL show. Having said that their Wales Euro song is utter shite, so probably best left there.

Wow, 5 pages in and I am stunned nobody has yet mentioned MERC or ULTERIOR ..... featuring, in the case of Merc, a guitarist who was at the same time playing for Forest. I do feel old.

In my previous life in England in the 1980s I worked on the music press and was in a moderately well known indie-charting band. I still have the royalty cheque for about seven quid, from Alan McGee at Creation Records. Clearly, he got a far greater share.

I went back to my old day job. As I wish Kasabian would do.

Nobody has denied he likes/liked us, that doesn't change he's a bluebird.

*sigh*

*gasp*
*moan*
*cough*
*belch*

Weren't Cardiff also in the Football League then? Funny how he didn't mention he heard it every week when watching the Cardiff goals, only that he heard it every week whilst watching the Forest goals.

Not funny at all.

I sometimes talk about Gremio without mentioning Forest

Ohhhh the shock

*rolls eyes*

I was only having a laugh, you want to try it.

But it is strange they should be talking about music, and football, and bring up Australia as goal music, and JDB mention he heard it a lot because Forest were in the Football League. To be honest I don't know either way. But I have a mate that's at the Wales squad Do tomorrow, where the Manics are playing, and he knows JDB... so I'll get him to ask. And then I will know.

TBF. 3 of those pages could be condensed to

"He likes Forest & Cardiff"

"No you're wrong, he does like Forest"

I forgot to ask my pal to ask him. But in the sprit of unsubstantiated information that is the backbone of this forum I'm going to say he definitely only supports Forest, though he once went to a Cardiff match (but didn't cheer). #itk

Paul McGregor - he's the lead singer. I remember seeing Merc at Rock City and the Forest first team were there in the mosh pit. Norm, Chettle, Rosario etc
Also makes me remember the time he was on SoccerAM and recounted the story of when he roomed with Silenzi, with Andrea sitting on his bed laughing about how shit he is and how much money he's getting paid
