Who Are/Were the Worst fans for Hooliganism and Violence

Millwall is pretty normal place to go to nowdays for away fans. I remember absolutely shitting myslef for days beforehand going to my first game at the new den. Got there and found it was pretty average, and never seen any trouble since.

That's due in part to the fact you can't get near the home fans once you get off the train!

I married a Wolverhampton girl and live locally, I look upon it as Missionary work. A lot of her family are Wolves fans, they can't help it.

Think yourself lucky, Roger.

My wife's family are from Liverpool.

Leeds and Sheffield United. No offence Gem but their other fans are from zoos.

Anyone who is under thirty and does all that stupid scabs nonsense.
It's unlikely I'd go to an England France game and start cheering the Battle of Waterloo.
Even if we did need a German sub to win it.

Forest always were always well respected back in the day, you would be surprised to know that many viewed a trip to Nottingham in the 70s and 80s with caution. Forest hooligan gangs like the Mad Squad, FEC, etc were seen as being up there with the best.

As for worst away, Liverpool definitely back in the 80s, no queensbury rules with that shower, anyone was seen as fair game. A trip to Old Trafford back then was also dodgy, certainly not the tourist attaction it is seen as now. As someone who got caught outside after the 1989 FA Cup Quarter final I can certainly vouch for thet. Birmingham was never a good trip either.

Times have thankfully changed and to be honest there is no trip anymore in this country that I would worry about. If your not looking for trouble your hightly unlikely to find it nowadays

Speaking as someone who has always steered clear of trouble, that was the worst I've ever found myself caught up in. Closely folowed by the '92 league cup final inside the ground, so I suppose my vote from personal experience has to go to manure.

You poor sod. That makes me virtually Aristocracy.

Scousers in Ruddington? I bet that has dragged house prices down

Fortunately the scouse in-laws don't live in Ruddington.

And my wife - very fortunately - doesn't have that horrible accent (product of frequent countrywide travelling as a kid owing to her dad being in the RAF).

The paramilitary wing of Easyjet! My wife's dad was a Crab too, as an ex Squaddie I try not to be too embarrassed. If we are talking worst hooligans then RAF Movers & Police deserve a mention. They can wreck anything of value without even thinking about it. They are also incredibly thick. I remember going on a flight to Gutersloh in the mid 80s where we had to go through a security check to search us for dangerous objects like knives, explosives etc.

Before you went through the scan you had to put your rifle & bayonet or GPMG to one side. Then you picked it up again and carried on towards the aircraft!:LOL:

United fans in our end. I remember that. The Stewards were very slow to sort them out

I'd like to vote for Norwich City supporters as being the worst for exactly the opposite reason. Too bloody nice. Can't stand the chirpy little bastards. Openly admit to a grin when that little shit in the green all-in-one got a smack on Trent Bridge.

I also saw them attack a mini bus full of Forest fans after the 92 league cup final. I once came very close to a serious kicking at the very least on a train on the way back from Old Trafford. Very scarey moment.

The 89 qf if I remember correctly, they accidentally started to let us straight out after the game, those who went out got set upon.
I got to the exit just as the coppers belatedly shut the gate. Luckily I was still on the inside.

Thats right, 1980s policing at its finest again, allow loads of Man United hooligans to gather outside the away end before the end of the match. Then after a FA Cup quarter final where the home team have lost let the aways fans out. Realise you have dropped a complete bollock so close the away end, leaving 1000s of Forest Fans inside the ground and a few hundred outside where it is quite literally every man for himself. You had no choice but to fight to protect yourself as it was chaos outside with nowhere to go because you couldn't go back into the ground to escape it. I myself took a right kicking

Back in the day two vanloads of us went to a friday night game at spurs. It wasn't long after the broadwater farm riots and our van had "Nottingham van hire" printed all along its side. To say my arse was twithing is an understatement , we were getting threatened from every angle and to top it off some yiddo with a huge screwdriver started chasing us down the road. Scary down there at night.

didn't a few Forest fans take the opportunity to settle a few scores that day for the FA Cup trouble already mentioned? I'm sure I remember a Man Utd fan being stretchered out with an oxygen mask.

Whatever, that was a shit match on the pitch and the worst Wembley atmosphere I've ever experienced.

Lets not pussy about, the utd fans in our end got hammered, halftime in the concourse was absolute bedlam as anything not showing Forest badge was liable to attacked.

One of the merchants I used, had a manure following manager who had seat at our end, I cracked up laughing when I saw his black eye Monday morning, fool complained he only stood up to celebrate utds goal and wham.

i always hated going to Luton down those f***ing little streets

Boro away, Everton away and Millwall away was always well dodgy. The old den was an evil place walking under that bridge to the ground

i am a cockney so was used to go West Ham a lot as a kid and they had some serious nutters

They had a big meet up recently and its strange to see some of the thugs now - some of them are 60
