I'm sure this will be news to Flagman.

Winnits is alive and well, as others have already said all of his attention appears to be directed to moaning about traffic on the M42 and standing on people at Ferocious Dog gatherings.

Only Alan can explain why he has removed his account but from experience when other users say they are leaving they ask for the account to be deleted or locked so they can move on in life without the temptation to join in the threads. However he has spent more money with my company in the last year than he has is the previous 10 so I'm all in favour of his decision!

Just popped by as someone pointed this thread out to be on Facebook - no conspiracy, I found myself increasingly detached from the forum and Forest yet unable to suppress the habit of years of checking into the forum. Also I was a little bit curious to see if I could delete my own account - a sort of digital hari-kiri if you will. It was a bit disappointingly easy to click and disappear, I don't think it even asked me if I was sure!

But there's no conspiracy, no fall-outs or anything like that - as others have pointed out I've chosen to devote my time and attention elsewhere, football in general has lost a lot of its lustre over the years, I wouldn't say it's purely down to performances - let's face it, we've endured utter dross at times for years.

I haven't been ousted, banned, ostracised or owt like that - I've chosen to take a step back. I'm still quite easy to find online should anyone desperately miss me :LOL:

It's funny to see really. When I met Winnits I didn't know any attending Forest fans (having grown up in Lincoln then Coventry and Manchester for my early adulthood) and it was Dan and Al who I really became mates with, both of whom were on here. After a whileI started seeing less of the football because I got really involved with New Model Army, much as Winnits has with FD. Couple of years back The Army played Rock City with FD and we both went, that was about the last time I saw NMA and I doubt Winnits has missed more than a gig or two of FD ever since. It's a great lifestyle when you get into it. I should imagine that'll be him now, for a few years.

As for quitting the forums, it's easy to forget to stop spending time on them even when you stop getting much out of it. When SoD got the boot I tweeted my one and only angry message to Fawaz, scrambled my password here (and Goatboy posted no longer) plus I deleted my Pissing Red blog and twitter. I have no recollection of the McLeish 'era' at all, and didn't miss the forum. Of course, we all know what happened next and I simply had to make a new account hear at the very least when Billy came back. It's like when your ex goes on Big brother. You just have to watch. that might well have been that once he went, as was my probable intent, but then it was Pearce... so what are you going to do? All of which makes me wonder what I'm still doing here :)
