RIP

He came to us in the twilight years of his playing career but was an important part of the squad that got us promoted back to the First Division and winning the League Cup.

Then of course he took the managers job when Ron Atkinson left. A third place finish followed by two Cup finals in the same season and a crack at Europe. Not to mention the signings of Chris Woods, Des Walker and Chris Waddle, who Trevor all brought in.

A hugely respected figure that will always be fondly remembered by Wednesday fans. We nearly lived the dream in those few years.

RIP Trev.

As a nine year old Forest fan, it was unbelievably exciting to see Trevor Francis get on the end of that John Robertson cross. (It might even have been the first full live Forest game I ever saw on TV).
As I got older and Trevor moved onto different clubs and roles, it was great to discover in his interviews etc., that he came across as a genuinely lovely bloke.
RIP Trevor, and thank you for your part in that amazing era for our club.

So many memories. Munich will live with me for ever as one of the ever decreasing fans who can say 'I was there' that header seemed to take an age from leaving his head to crossing the line and hitting the roof of the net. The incredulity of us signing the million pound player, unbelievable.
Trevor the legend go gently now.
Would it be a good idea for the club to retire the No.7 shirt for this season?

Two biggest memories.
First is being at the front in the Butlins TV room at Skeg when that header went in. A room with cinema seats and an oversize TV at the front where kids sat on the floor and loads of adults crammed in down the sides The room exploded when that header went in.
The second was the first game of the season in 81 sat in the Lower Exec with my mum and dad watching Trev scoring twice as we beat Southampton 2-1. He was brilliant that day but a few days later he'd gone to City, I was absolutely gutted.

RIP Trev, thanks for the memories
