Too good for Nottingham Forest

Until we're an established Premier league side we'll have this conversation every time we see a young'un shine. I suppose the positive is the fact that we seem to be producing exciting players that catch the eye, more than can be said of the likes of Leeds or Qpr etc.

Even when you're a Premier League side the big boys still come calling. Just look at Southampton!!

I'm sure Pearce didn't want to sell either of them, wasn't he on BBC radio Notts on the night they were sold lamenting the deal?

Nah, said he'd have bartered for a better deal, not that he wouldn't sell. So we may have got a 3rd Britt/Antonio here with even more money had Pearce had his way.

Oops, just seen Wes already posted.

We are out of the embargo and for a change spending responsibly this transfer window so why do we need to sell?! What would be the point of saying selling Britt for £15m if it means you have no chance of getting promoted to the PL which is worth at least £200m?! Makes no sense with so many years left on his contract!! Lets stop this negativity right now! There's enough morons on twitter with this BS!

I keep seeing threads about Assombalonga and people worrying about him leaving. Has there actually been any indication that the club would sell or even that hes looking to move? Norwich made a bid and it got rejected they seem the only club at the moment with any real interest and a move to them would be a sideways step anyway it would make no sense its the start of the season we could go up and they could stay down. Unless a premier league club become interested i wouldn't worry too much i think he will stay.
As for him being too good for Forest there are quite a few players in the championship this season that should be in the premier league its just the league is much stronger now than it was a few years ago if we want to go up we need to keep our best players here.

Fawaz saying he wont sell him unless it's in the best interests of the club means he's preparing to sell him.

Also, there's been way too much positivity around the club these past weeks, so that has to be put to a stop, obviously.

Burke just signed a four and a half year deal in February, and Assombalonga is in year three of a five year deal. All the time in the world.

dont see many of them leaving especially now that mountainer has made it clear they are part of the first team plans. if they aint learnt from the likes of bamford, bertrand going to big clubs where they are not gonna be played hinders there career, yes the moneys better but on 10k a week its not like there on the breadline

Contacts only serve to ensure you get a bit more of a transfer fee for a player. Brit could be on year 1 of a 10 year contract, but if a bigger club like Stoke or West Brom came along with a half decent offer he'd be gone like a shot.

We are fans, players are employees who want to be paid as much as they can get. Don't forget "it's a short career" (and it's out of the question for players to get another job after retiring) so they will always go where the money is.

As long as we continue to reinvest any transfer revenue on elderly Premiership journeymen and the perennially injured though, we'll be just fine.

Are Forest just destined to tread water for ever more while the likes of Bournemouth and Swansea get further away from us. Once we won two European Cups, did we decide that we would no longer be ambitious as there was nothing else to achieve? Why did nobody tell me this when I became a fan in 1989? It would have saved me a lot of heartache.

Under contract. Forcing them to stay for at least another year couldn't be easier.

Not really. How many examples are there in the past of footballers starting to half-arse it when they want to force a move? It becomes counter-productive to force them to stay.

As much as I agree with you, I don't think Britt is that kind of character

Agreed. I was worried when I heard that. Seemed to think that selling them but loaning them back for a year was a good idea. I disagree.

If Britt leaves then we can kiss goodbye to any sort of promotion challenge this season. Even if we get 10 million plus for him, who will we get to replace him?

In my opinion, he is vital and can really see him bag 30+ goals this season.

DO NOT SELL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!
