I 100% thought he was Mills' replacement when he was linked earlier and now I'm still around 70/30 that he's Mills' replacement...
It just amazes me that as soon as he was mentioned people assume that Worrell is off!he has said himself that he ain't going nowhere and doesn't want to.i know powers at be decide in the end but for me it's Tobias
and Worrell in the centre.

Compulsory purchase option lads.

Tobias Figueiredo is in the process of strengthening Nottingham Forest. Sporting is finalizing a deal with the Championship's 14th English title, in view of the 23-year old loan, which will include a mandatory 2.3 million euro purchase option for 80% of the pass .

According to information collected by Record from a source close to this process, and although there are still some details to be defined, the lions will receive 200 thousand euros with the loan of the international Under-21. In addition to this amount, they reserve 20% of the pass and still safeguard the right of preference over Portuguese.

So, two days after the closing of the transfer market, and after a process led by the strong men of the football structure (Bruno de Carvalho, André Geraldes and Jorge Jesus), Sporting resolves another dossier of his squad.

Compulsory purchase?? So if hes not very good we have buy him for 2.2m??

Seems an odd term, as we may aswell just buy him outright now surely?

Oh I assumed it meant they have to sell if we meet that figure at the end of the loan? Bit confused by the wording.

Must be an option to buy. Nobody would be stupid enough to do a deal like that surely?
I have heard of deals like that but usually they're for bigger fees like Rhodes was at Sheff Weds when he went on loan there initially. Weds had to buy him for £10m at the end of the loan spell. With a fee as low as the one quoted we'd be best off just buying him now like gamble said.

Think that is spot on.

So we pay 20% now and then reserve the right of purchase of the final 80%
Yeah I'm thinking that seems the most logical.

Edit: I seem to remember GBG saying a while back that he found it odd that we make loans in this country without buying the player at the end so it sounds like something Vrentzos would probably do?

I originally viewed it as them keeping 20% rights for future sell-on but I think the other option is more realistic in England.

Im assuming its an option to buy and a poor translation otherwise the deal seems very peculiar. Although to be honest it would sum us up perfectly to loan a player them be truly awful and then be forced to buy them

Compulsory purchase option lads.

Compulsory purchase options are used in three cases:

a) When a player has an expensive contract ending before the date of the compulsory bying option; the club bying him pay less on the first year, as a "loan", with the club of origin paying the rest, and then arrange for a different (cheaper) contract with the player.

b) For reasons of taxes or ffp: what is essentially a buy is disguised as a loan with a compulsory bying option.

c) A compulsory bying option is sometimes not as compulsory as the term suggests: it depends on numbers of appearances, achievements etc; if the targets are achieved, then the buying option is triggered automatically.

Good to know thanks.

It does make a little but more sense now, the FFp bit especially, 200k this year then 2.2m over a 3 year contract or similar.

What does the whole 20% 80% thing mean?

We pay 20% now and then they have to sell if we decide to pay the remaining 80% is that correct?

No, it means Sporting reserve a 20% sell-on clause and they also reserve a right to buy back the player for a fixed price.

Ah ok, makes sense. Sounds like the kind of thing you see Real Madrid and Barca do with their good younger players like when Madrid bought Morata back from Juve or Barca with Deulofeu and Everton.

Seems like its less an "option" though

It isn't. You're buying him (unless there are clauses allowing you not to trigger the buying option, see point c, above). You're just not buying him now.

Ah right.

The Mbappe transfer is done the same, I believe. He's only on "loan" to PSG at the moment.
