I agree and the same with new stadium cost estimates.
The most accurate way to guess forests costs seems to be a mix of how much spurs are reported to have paid and comparing that with evertons estimated cost for theres and then mixing them together and knocking a bit off because ours will be a bit smaller.
The price since Everton started and even when Spurs built their £1bn stadium has probably doubled in cost.

Notts wouldn't want a ground share. Their best case scenario, with respect, is Championship / Division 2. Meadow lane next door to Eastcroft works for sharing some facilities perhaps, but not the pitch! City Council got their fingers burnt with the sharing suggestion re Clifton Bridge. The Councillor central to that, known by many as Degsy, recognised that proposing a share was an error.
Capacity: 40,000/42,000 is realistic for the foreseeable future. Say the WFCG capacity was somehow increased to that, and then we found out that the hugely marketable product of the PL determined that we needed more. No room for further expansion, so what then? A new site with the potential to build on, if and when needed, makes sense.
I have no insider knowledge of the thinking at Forest. I know more about Everton at the moment, due to work (and they are not a happy crew today). I do know that things that could have been done fairly easily and cheaply to the WFCG have not been done. Toilets, catering, improvements to access and egress. Things that have been done are to satisfy PL requirements (VAR, floodlights, media facilities). Things that are being considered are deemed 'temporary' (TE/BC corner). Other work, and most welcome it is, has been cosmetic. That just makes me wonder whether a rethink is going on.
Reasonable question isn't it?
For certainly, I am not a member of any rowing club, I can hardly swim!
Fair enough and forgive me for labouring this question, but can you confirm exactly where presently at Eastcroft is the "flat brownfield" part?

I remember man city's attendances in the 3rd division a few years ago.
I would say they are a 50 thousand crowd type to be fair
When city visited it always felt like a big team were in town. Just because the two biggest clubs in the land are jealous of them now and try and paint them as some tin pot nothing club doesn’t mean they aren’t a big club. They averaged nearly 30k in the third division in the late 90’s after years of being shit. They were always gonna be a 50k club in the current era with even a bit of success.

Being in West Bridgford, it should’ve been called.. The Town ground
It was named so because Nottingham became a city in the year it was built 1898, and remained in the city until the introduction of postcodes in the 50's when the river was used as a border.

Ive lost count of the number of times Ive had to explain this to Notts County fans, who were playing in Beeston at one stage! Along with the fact that Forest we playing at WFCG some 12 years before they even looked at Meadow Lane.

It never goes down well, for some strange reason 😀

Which is a surprise, of course, because most County fans are so old, they’d have been around when all that happened?

They originally called themselves "the lambs" too, drop that one in! I often say that despite being older, Newcastle are the "original" magpies because they called themselves it before Notts, despite probably not being true it gets them steaming :ROFLMAO:

The fact that we were formed in the city on Forest recreation ground, our ground was built in the city before theres was really really grates them, because its literally all they have as a weapon.

Lovely stuff.

It cost about $360m to build.

Take away the air-con. It's still probably a fair whack.
Being a bit flippant as seems there is a vested interest in us moving to Eastcroft!

Dunno what the capacity of the container one at the world cup was but we'd get away with doing one around currant capacity as a temporary home which you'd hope would bring the cost down a bit.

The shipping containers idea was used when the railway line at Dawlish was damaged by the adjacent rough sea. There they were used as formwork and filled with concrete. The quite brilliant idea for the world Cup stadium made perfect sense as it was also on the coast. I don't necessarily see Forest using containers, more the design concept of modules built off site and lifted into position. Still a good idea.

Why don't we build one of these container stadiums on the brownfield site at Eastcroft while we rebuild the WFCG?
I'm still trying to ascertain where exactly it is, but for some reason Lady P seems a little reticent about providing the answer?

Edit: She's just done it.

Hi Lady P, thanks for your posts so far, but it is unusual for somebody who joined on Tuesday to jump straight in with such detailed posts on this subject, hence why a few people have alarm bells ringing? Maybe you‘re just a fan with a professional interest in the options for the ground or maybe theres more to it? If you could clear up your interest / background it might help, if not no worries but your posts will be taken by some with a pinch of salt.
