Comrades, I've just consulted with my team of architects and found a picturesque Asda car park location on the outskirts of town. The view speaks for itself.

Yes, we could've paid £1m a year to stay at our beautiful, historic home on the Trent, but I think you'll agree that this money is better spent annually on things like a loan fee for Giovanni Reyna.

Glad someone mentioned this!

Wouldn’t mind moving back there actually.

Edit: nah. It’d be rubbish. Let’s stay at the City Ground.
Well. You could then nip up the Forest Road and get tugged off after the match, of course?

Just to throw something else in there as to why they may want a new stadium and that is sponsorship rights. If we stay at the City Ground, there will always be backlash about naming it the EON City Ground for example. New shiny soulless bowl, no worries as nobody will care.

I always said we missed a trick by not getting sponsored by Citigroup, The Citi Ground would work for everyone.

I think virtually all of us wouldn't care what it was called - as long as we stay where we are.

If they signed a deal with EON and it was called the EON Arena your telling me people wouldn't be going loopy? Come on mate...
It wouldn't bother me in the slightest.
Would it be Forest playing there? - Yes
Would it help to contribute much needed funds to improve the team/squad? - Yes
Pay the club £10m a year (or whatever the going rate is) and you can call it what you like - within reason of course.

It's all about mid-table...
Take no heed ya silly boggers.

Thi oni thing the prats upstairs know how to do is spunk wanton millions on agents spiel about their players and believe every word they say.

Anything else they haven't the foggiest idea what's going on.

It will always be the City Ground, I'll never call it anything else AND I'm not watching us in some shitty bowl miles away either so you can f*** off, and when you get there, f*** off again!

Kindly take your face for a shit Tom.
All the Stags fans around me still call their ground 'Field Mill' it is only the media that call it the 'One Call' stadium
The money provided by the owner to name the stadium after his business has helped fund all the players added to the squad that has just got promoted.
What's the problem?

I don't know the area of Toton. Please explain how this impacts my journey. I get the train from Nottingham station back to Bedford. I guess I have to catch a tram back to Nottingham train station...which would add an extra hour probably on to my journey.
NFFC won't be moving to Toton so best not get yourself worked-up or waste energy fretting about it.

If, in the highly unlikely event we do relocate, it's more probable it will be closer to Nottingham Station.

This has given me the idea for a film set in a future world where instead of going to watch Forest we all have the memory of matchdays implanted in our brains afterwards by Tom Cartledge

Think I'll call it:

Toton Recall
Perfect!

How long before [insert player's name] is back?

2 Weeks.

2 weeks.

I think we all agree that the lease is a red herring and can be resolved. However I’d like to know what feasibility studies the club have done for the City Ground. There will be a limit on what is possible, in terms of seating capacity, hospitality and other facilities as well as transport and local infrastructure. But what does that limit look like? 38,000? 45,000? 50,000? (I suspect toward the lower end but I simply don’t know).

I never want to leave the City Ground - it sets us apart from everyone else and is such a great setting. But if that means never being able to expand and modernise the stadium and facilities, we will simply be left behind.

Whatever the owner decides to do, he must do it with the vast majority of supporters on board otherwise it will be an expensive disaster.

Stadium naming?

For f***’s sake the stadium where I often go and watch my football used to be at one time called the Adolf Hitler Kampfbahn.

Pretty much everyone still calls it Neckarstadion though, whoever the current commercial partner is (Porsche subsidiary MHP, if you wondered).

I shouldn’t worry too much about it.
With crowds of around 3,000 in our magnificent new 50,000 stadium your journey time back
to Bedford should be quicker than from the City Ground.
It’s not as if the travelling support from the likes of Harrogate and Crewe would delay you much either.

Awesome. I'll now be able to grab a 24-pack of Stella and a meal deal to consume in the car park, rather than keeping those rip-off pubs in Nottingham afloat with their over-inflated pricing.

You have to be open minded with these things and not be overemotiotnal and try and stay rational as possible. I have to admit trying to get a ticket is getting me down big time that to me is worse than not playing at the City Ground. So something needs to be done. We all have to accept that.

My uttermost preference is expand the WFCG to 50k. Thats my ultimate ideal, however and we dont know the true story if the council is playing silly buggers than we may have to look at alternatives.

However if its true the council have said that Forest can buy the free hold if they want? Surely thats what we should be doing? What I cant get my head around is why dont we just do that?

We have to remember FFP as well, so it maybe that a new ground will quadruple revenue so this all needs consideriation of all pros and cons instead of getting over emotional.

My preferred option is buying the free hold and than cracking on. If not possible we may have to relocate but if it happens it has to be done with the utmost delicacy. It cant be a souless bowl and the location has to be nice and with good links to town. Also any new ground has to be call the New City Ground. If we want to put a sponsor at the front of that than crack on I am all more creating more revenue. This may give us a sporting advantage in the championship.

If they're selling it at above market value, to bail out the 'bankrupt' council, then why would the owner/club over-pay?
That is a valid reason Congo I agree. That would make sense why they wouldnt purchase the freehold. This is why I say in general not you to everyone not to get over emotional and call Mr Cartledge names. This is a complex situation that has pro and cons everyone needs to weigh up.

Also why dont we try something out of the box, why dont we say to the council look help us build a new tram stop in a location thats more desirable to Forest. That has direct trams straight into town. I think I can tolerate being out of town if absolute neccesary if its a 15 minute or less tram journey to town. Also as well they need to make sure they put enough trams on. There seems to be a lack of creativity from all sides here.
