Apparently the negotiations have concluded with city council. A complete impasse. No wonder they've come out swinging, especially as the council have reneged on the agreement
Yes you can really sense the deep frustrations from Tom. I can only applaud the club for coming out fighting on this, they clearly recognise football is at another crossroads and Forest don’t want to be left behind again.

I’ve got no words for the council.. maybe ***** ? Tom has a superb point about Manchester regeneration, something Nottingham missed out on but what an opportunity the city has to get it right this time

Frankly it's none of the councils business what revenue the football club generates for itself. Furthermore, Forest are already contributing significantly due to the huge economic benefit to the city from the club performing well by being in the PL
Spot on mate, no idea what a corner shop and Tesco have to do with anything 😂

Yep, in a nutshell.

Local government in Nottinghamshire has been frankly inept for decades, which is why so many other English cities such as Manchester and Liverpool have seen their centres properly regenerated with private and commercial partnerships - yes, we all hate it but it all comes down to private money, because God knows the government won’t pony up unless it’s for London - but Nottingham continues to lag behind, so today the city ends up looking like an absolute dump, with a rash of inconsistent policies providing a patchwork of areas where some bits aren’t bad, but much of it remains an absolute shithole.

Oh and as for Forest welching about a demand for a £1m a season rent; the Council know you’re a Premier League club, so they’re going to try and screw you for money. It’s public knowledge the money the PL brings, so everyone wants a piece.

The commercially dense decision to decline an offer of £6m for shirt sponsorship from BOXT (and instead give the shirt away for half a season to the UNHCR) looks incredibly naive in this context.

And yes, that is not decrying in any way the great work UNHCR does. Even I bought a Forest shirt with their logo on it. It’s just another example of Forest crying over something that was entirely within their remit to sort, and then this would not have become a problem.

But, oh no, not Forest.

Or including a promotion extension in a players contract without specifying how many games they should play in the promotion season for that extension clause to be activated

The comments on this thread are baffling at times. At what point will the club be given any credit for trying to do the right things? The ownership have had failings, but mainly it’s the operational side of the way the club runs that cause the frustrations. Take a step back from the constant Omarring and it’s clear to see that we have an ownership who wants to do right by the club and city.

Louth Red said slightly earlier to be patient and that is the number one thing here.

I don't understand how an entertity can be bankrupt, have someone willing to give them some cash but they don't sell,?

Totally agree

Everytime anything doesnt go the way certain fans want it the same unrelated things get regurgitated 😂

f*** the council, they have clearly moved position on a previous agreement by being greedy and I dont blame the club for refusing to roll over, fair play to em. How in gods name fans can conclude this is the clubs fault is beyond logic.

Hey folks, who are you gonna vote for in the upcoming GE

Labour or Conservative?

Thoughts please
I'm generally a voter that looks at policies and goes with what's I think is best as opposed to an avid labour voter because me dad worked daaarn pit. I'll probably never vote labour again though I can safely say that.

I might not even vote this time, all tosspots.

Call it a wasted vote if you like but as a member of the Green party I'll probably vote for them. Can't see me voting Labour while Starmer is in charge. Even Chris Bryant who I thought was a decent MP showed his true colours the other day.
It's a mess, all of it.

Remember when Corbyn tried to entice green party voters by claiming he was gonna plant so many trees, without understanding that it would require a land mass the size of Wales to achieve it 😂 What a walloper that bloke was.

Im not sure how anyone can conclude that people like him or Starmer could lead a country.

I do think labour will get in though, people have had enough.

In fairness I think the days of the Prime Minister leading the country are long gone.

Lol

I’ve long arrived at the same conclusion Eddie.

Any extreme far right or far left party gets my vote until both the House of Lords and parliament is abolished and we start again. Democracy is in serious danger because of our inability to select a decent alternative

The board have absolutely no qualms about upping the ticket prices, season tickets, shirts, memberships and all the rest so that we as fans have to pay more, as things get more expensive. But then, when the Council want to do it to them, it's unacceptable.

While the club shouldn't be held needlessly to ransom by a council who - let's face it - couldn't find their arses with both hands and an atlas, the observation above is absolutely (no pun intended) on the money.

£1m a year equates to less than 20k per week, chicken feed in the great scheme of things. Wasted more on Harry Arter per year or a fifth of a Lingard.

This is more about principle rather than actual numbers. Maybe the club is using this to get supporters buy-in for a different site where a 50k stadium can be constructed rather than struggling to get the existing one over 38k.
