No wonder he got rid of Mark WarburtonThey will do when Mr Marinakis finds out one of them owns a bakery.

Most sensible post on this thread in 4 years.Lots of political posturing presently.
In a few months time the City Council will be back to the negotiating table with NFFC - either sensible lease extension or sale price.
Yes - a further delay
but
on the basis we stay up - we can plan for the future at the WFCG.
If we were to move the cost of a ‘proper stadium’ is beyond our financial capacity, it would take years, and not a patch on the City Ground. We would have to fund it in full up front and still have to pay the City Council the annual lease.
I don’t want undue delay but we must
1. be patient,
2. focus on staying up,
3. let the General Election take place,
4. be ready to negotiate the lease extension,
5. sort out the planning and related issues,
6. organise the contracts and timeframes for the development.
Other than the Amex all other new grounds have resulted in big issues for clubs - either cost and/or delays, plus loss of atmosphere.
It's a sales pitch for why we need to move. This is a good response imo.
Probably because the club assumed - with some naivety it now seems - that a sensible compromise would be arrived at. Also, for most of that 5-year period you refer to, the planning permission process was taking its course. The club has done the right thing in revealing this now.As for the ground. I don't trust a word out the clubs mouth. 5 years no lease increase but only now they bring it up? Why? Why now.
Wasnt a very good one if so, he hardly ever mentioned moving. It's a sales pitch for why we need to move.
Tom, git fukced me duck.(Cartledge, not you my little Yankee doodle.)
Lel
I thought it was just a bit of hard ball tbh.Wasnt a very good one if so, he hardly ever mentioned moving.
Seemed to me he was finger pointing, and rightly so.
Really? All my history is at the City Ground, it's in my DNA, but if we have to move to be able to wash my hands after a piss, hey-ho.Wasnt a very good one if so, he hardly ever mentioned moving.

I didnt get this from a meme to be honest and ive heard this "defence" before.Lel
But actually, that's a bit of a meme which isn't entirely correct.
KS was indeed DPP at the time JS was investigated and the case was ultimately dropped. But as the head of the department he probably wasn't involved in the case, it was probably a prosecutor working under him, who ultimately was under his remit but individual cases probably didn't come onto his radar.
The CPS with KS as DPP failed to prosecute yes but I don't think there's any evidence Keir himself was involved in this decision. The buck may ultimately stop with the most senior manager though.
I doubt there's really any collusion to allow an aging ***** to walk free for the last few years of his life
Agree with that, we'll see I guess mate.I thought it was just a bit of hard ball tbh.
I doubt we're any more serious about moving than we were about promotion in the summer of 2004.
But we don't have to stay here, the council presumably stands to lose a fair amount if we don't, and the club holds the cards more as the council is skint.
Tom Cartledge isn't daft.
So you’re not a fan then?Starmer is an odious vile cretin, jimmy savilles mate, yeah.....lets vote for that ****!
Are you para phrasing or advocating a move here mate? bit confusedO
Really? All my history is at the City Ground, it's in my DNA, but if we have to move to be able to wash my hands after a piss, hey-ho.
You don't charge a corner shop, the same rent you would charge a Tesco. The f*** you on about lad?
I would personally be skeptical that such a high profile case didn't at least clip the DPP's radar at the time.I didnt get this from a meme to be honest and ive heard this "defence" before.
I fail to understand how the head of the CPS didnt know, hardly a domestic case, Britains biggest celebrity "how can we" He was part of the cover up and ultimately brushed it under the carpet. A lot of people have blood on their hands over Saville, Starmer was smothered in claret!
Aside from that hes an odious bafoon, and I'd love to smack the shit out of him.
Ill get onto his bad points later.
I wont be wearing a half and half Corbyn and Starmer scarf anytime soon, lets just say that.So you’re not a fan then?
Tesco dont rent cornershops you sausage. You don't charge a corner shop, the same rent you would charge a Tesco.
The f*** I'm on about, is that you wouldn't charge a small business the same amount of rent that you would charge a nationwide franchise
He sweated nightly for weeks, waking up in cold sweats, before declaring a lack of evidence. I do wonder how many victims he created, the coward.I would personally be skeptical that such a high profile case didn't at least clip the DPP's radar at the time.
But who knows, I doubt he'll admit it
I'm definitely not selling a fukcing move! Are you para phrasing or advocating a move here mate? bit confused
If the option is running water on a retail park or taking a hit after piss, ill take my chances.
I think the point hes making is that we can have both......on Trentside
I hear ya, its frustrating as f*** man.I'm definitely not selling a fukcing move!
There always seems to be an obstacle, residents, boat clubs, infrastructure, council, baby Jesus needs the City Ground to store his moonbeams. We're not talking about stupid people here, the odd drunk possibly, but these people know how to get stuff done, if there's a will for it.
I'm not buying it.

When these terms were agreed, we were nowhere near, financially in the position we are now. It stands to reason that with an increase of revenue, the Council are looking for Forest to contribute more than the current terms because they are earning significantly more than they previously were.
The board have absolutely no qualms about upping the ticket prices, season tickets, shirts, memberships and all the rest so that we as fans have to pay more, as things get more expensive. But then, when the Council want to do it to them, it's unacceptable.
Running a football club is an expensive endeavour, but running one the way we do really doesn't help. Marinakis can go an entire season without a paying shirt sponsor in our first season back, because no one paid him enough yet this is a stickler.
The fact that this is something the club are even openly considering, tells me everything I need to know about them. Getting into Europe regularly and challenging for stuff in English Football is a pipe dream. Just the owner is so used to winning everything with the Greek Celtic, he naturally assumes all football works like that.
As if things are unstable at the football club with the change in mind and the financial fair play stuff, now this.
