Re: The World Famous City Ground Expansion Thread

I went to a supporters club AGM some years ago and Mr Doughty said that when the Main stand was modernised then there would be the Clough Gates built. I appreciate these are different owners but surely there should be a statue or something at the ground to remember the great man

This is brilliant news. I was only looking at the attendance figures on monday and thinking after several near capacity matches that we needed more space. Shame they cant put solar capture cells on the roof and harvest any sunlight.

I'm surprised we didn't get one of Clough and Taylor when Fawaz was here - as you face it, Clough on the left, Taylor on the right and Fawaz right there in the middle.

Where's the pitta gyros shop? Not good enough for NFFC.

All the money went to the coffee shops which will provide Chris's long overdue decent cup of coffee.

I would like to think that the small cube structure between the Trent End and the Peter Taylor Stand will become the „Big Evangelos“ coffee shop and bakery, supplying quality Greek-themed snacks and tasty caffeinated beverages.

Re: The World Famous City Ground Expansion Thread

Great news and obviously long overdue. Apparently the building work will take up to 2 years to complete. I have been a season ticket holder in the Main Stand/Peter Taylor Stand for 46 years. Do I take a break from football for 2 years(watch Notts County perhaps!?) The club says they will consult with fans regarding the reduced capacity during redevelopment but there seems no easy answers to this problem. Any ideas?
I hope to god that amongst these amazing plans that the hardcore of fans in The Peter Taylor Stand aren't forgotten in favour of corporate entertaining and the preferences of non-invested fan groups. Remember where all of this celebrated singing has eminated from over the years and all of the loyal supporters elsewhere in the block too.
Ticket availability should be prioritised for current season ticket holders today as that will just about fill the ground allowing for away supporters during the redevelopment.
Fantadtic news Forest now don't lose sight of what you already have. :)

I wonder if many Notts fans think we are taking the piss given their plight and timing it on the day when a company associated with the club are going into administration?.
In all seriousness I woke up to this news this morning and am buzzing. Although all in for £50m? seems low. Have they got some pikeys in to tarmac the concourse?. ;)

I’ve just managed to read the full announcement and I’m not ashamed to admit that I had tears in my eyes.

Joking aside this is a possibility.

When you are selling out against opposition like Wigan Athletic and not even in the top six it suggests we can sell more tickets.
The stand will also generate new interest and there's no reason we can't give the away fans a larger allocation back.

Agree mate. Got to think it is a possibility and we know there was a growing group of fans getting tired of all the shit with Hardy at their club. Getting relegated will only keep the hardcore because the situation they in it could be a tough old time for them there.

Probably this is the second time you read a statement of Marinakis.
As we said before, he rarely speaks or writes in social media.
When he does it, it means that he is serious with that.

Robertson is well overdue a statue. Our greatest ever player deserves to be immortalised.

News of redevelopment may increase demand for season tickets at the end of this season in anticipation of impending capacity problems.

I understand that there will be a number of fan group consultations so I expect it will be a major consideration.

Creating a further 8500 seats will be massive.

Over a two year period, there will be an element of temporary relocation of ST holders to other areas but that’s a small price to pay in the full scheme of things.

World class. They said World class. We will have a World class stadium.

Also notice the Bridgford end is being extended up in that corner to 2 tier.

Surely the „John Robertson Corner“ would be appropriate?

As long as his plans involve keeping MON & RK around & he leaves the roast pork cob shop alone, I'm on board.

I'm not talking about the temporary measures so much as planning for them and then the issues of relocating Main Stand fans after the development. If we sell an extra 3,000 tickets this summer where are they going to put everyone during the redevelopment?
