Itvwoyld be great to have this at match from a drinking perspective.

But sadly, we all know in the English culture that the Common denominator of Football and Beer is fighting.

What the VfB cleverly do as well - the absolute swines - is have attractive young ladies (and gentlemen) standing just inside the stadium perimeter, with trays of pre-poured Biers, so when you go through the security check and then swipe your ticket on the reader to get through the turnstile, as soon as you‘re in the stadium, they have the opportunity to pounce on you and sell you a Bier.

I fall for this, frequently.

There are TV screens hanging from the back of the Main Stand roof so the (expanded) Press Box can see the Sky Sports feed. These are visble to the new back (R and Q) rows, in C block.

In other, Peter Taylor stand news - at the West Ham game . one of the beer pumps on the concourse bar came loose on it's moorings , beer srayed everywhere but into the plastic cup. Service was only restored when punters volunteered to steady the pour for the seemingly untrained bar staff. Think the four staff managed to serve eight customers during the half time interval. Complete shambles.
This, no water in the TEU bogs, lack of communication, all the other stuff we've discussed...it really does look like the club doesn't regard the support base as important.

I'm sure they do really, but it can sure as hell be easily interpreted the other way .......

Also presumably this means that some supporters in the ground get to see the VAR discussion and get to see the controversial incidents not available to other supporters?

I am going tomorrow to Stuttgart-Freiburg, and I think the price will be €4,50 a half-liter, which is (I think) about £3.80 ish of Her Majesty‘s money.

And that will be a locally-brewed Stuttgarter Hofbräu, which is a nice, clean, crisp, Helles-style Bier too, not mass-produced piss like Carling or Fosters.

its not for me, and yer can keep yer tasty bratwurst with lashings of mustard in a freshly baked bun selling for less than you’d pay for a packet of crisps over here …….😩

Seriously it really is about time that football fans here got decent variety at a decent price

Have to agree with the thought that serving beer all match in England is a recipe for mayhem. Maybe not every game, but enough to urge caution.

And, my thought always, if you can't survive 90 odd minutes without a beer, you have a problem.

Aye fair point Vals……..the food ( term used loosely) certainly needs looking at across the board….nee one likes a pie more than me, but a little variety and quality wouldn’t go amiss

Good point VP, although it is a cultural thing as well, especially here.

I mean, I can quite happily walk down the street in Stuttgart swigging a Bier out the bottle, and nobody bats an eye.

Try that in Nottingham - or anywhere in the UK - you would get arrested, most likely.

I was at a game once where a young lad who couldn't handle his beer threw up all over the guy sat infront of him.

Slightly different where I reside…… you’re expected to walk the streets with drink in hand, a fag on the go, and accessorise the look with either a vicious dog ( off the lead) or a badly behaved child again running free with a greggs pasty in hand………..known locally as a Southwick dummy……

For many a year, we've always taken the easy option on stadium catering. Lukewarm pukka pies and even warmer pissy lager.

Once this season's transfer window shuts, maybe we can switch that team onto the catering? Throw some money at it and make it the best in the EPL. Affordable quality is whats needed.

Come on who was it that ‘steadied the pour’ free of charge?

Maybe you're right but it works ok at the cricket, rugby and other sports, and at the football in other countries.

Either way it's as sad as ever that the responsible majority suffer for the muppet minority (who will get off their heads anyway), and that the clubs miss further revenue opportunities.
