I feel a little for the Blues fans, but not the owners.

QPR have looked so poor under Gareth Ainsworth, who has been sacked this evening. I know he's got the personality but I'm not sure about him in the Championship. He's brought in Steve Cook and Jack Colback and you'd think with those players he has enough character in his team to fight in games but they're losing almost everything.

17% win record is disastrous, when you consider Michael Beale had QPR fighting at the top of the table before his move to Rangers last season. Another one who was sacked from his job this month. Shitshow all round....

It has been coming for a long while with QPR though. They have built a pretty crap squad there with almost no investment.

Anybody having them higher than mid-table would have had them punching above their weight.

You'd at very least back Warnock to keep them up, which I'd snap your hand off for if offered that right now if I was a QPR fan.

I’ve gotta feeling they’ll go for Eustace.

They could do worse than taking a punt on Jack. I've always thought he'd make a good coach.

Don't disagree - fundamentally at least. He's tactically aware and seems to communicate well and influence things on the pitch.

But it would be his first coaching job - he's still playing for them and was in the PL with us last season - so has he had time to do his coaching licences etc (I know that there is an exception on this for players who are still playing, and that you still need to be a good coach anyway, but they presumably give you scenarios and stuff you wouldn't necessarily think about as a player. They are also in a relegation fight in quite an even division which might not be the best place for your first job. Ideally he would need to hit the ground running but Psycho did that both times with us and couldn't keep things going when the initial momentum died down.

They could do worse (and potentially not a lot better) than Warnock, certainly out of the available managers. He did a decent job with Hudds last season and it seemed a bit odd for them to suddenly replace him with Darren Moore like that. I know he's old but so is Woy and he's still managing at the top level, and Bobby Robson was managing when he was well into his 70s too, as did Ferguson. There can't be many managers with a better track record than Warnock in the 2nd tier and he rarely gets teams relegated either (from the CH). I think when he was there before not only did he get them up but he also kept them up before they decided to bring in Hughes and then replace Paddy Kenny with that flapper Green and then the Brazilian keeper and it all went wrong.

Weird when coaches like Ainsworth excel at one club but collapse at the next, although a league apart.
Not too surprising when they can sneak their way in a bit like Ainsworth did at Wycombe. He was manager from 2012 which is a long time in itself but was a player from 2009 before that. You can come in and change things around gradually but the advantage is you know the previous setup and the players etc so it's easier than making the step up and then coming in fresh with a new setup, different players, different expectations etc.

As it stands his greatest achievement with Wycombe was to finish bottom of the championship when they had come up due to covid and the L1 season finishing early then going straight to play offs.

Good result for Wednesday against the Mini-Pigs.

3500 closet blades paying 27 quid to see their ex-striker Michael Smith score twice in front of them.

Although, given the news coming out about Wednesdays owner today, its going to get very nasty there.

That's not going to end well is it? The whole 'losing face' Thai cultural thing won't help one bit...
Exactly.

You get the feeling that this is going to end in tears.
At least our owner, whilst he may be a bit f***ing mental, understands the culture behind the British.

I think the club will go out of business.

As crazy as it may sound, I honestly think that Sheffield Wednesday Football Club and all it’s history since 1867 will cease to exist.

That’s the severity of it.

You have my sympathy Owl.
It's been forgotten by many, but I think we came pretty close to that sort of fate. With the way Fawaz was running down the club when his family funding dried up, if we had gone down to league 1, which we narrowly avoided - I don't think the deal with Marinakis would have gone ahead and we'd have been toast.
Hoping for better days ahead for you.

It’s really about time something was done to safe guard historic clubs ……these chances coming in from other sectors, causing mayhem then buggering off must stop, I do like the 50 % plus 1 system.
