That was a fun night of watching people make the wrong decision over and over again.

From Montiel thinking he’s Zidane to Tavares blindly crossing when there’s nobody there and not crossing when there’s 4 in the box to endless attempted flicks into the middle of the pitch.

Very little quality whatsoever but like with the first game, never really looked like losing either despite most of their good attacks coming from us pissing about with it.

But we’re through and I’m happy with that.

Don't crucify me, but..... Was Turner's mistake really that bad? Decent save onto the post, no?
Sadly, no

A goalkeeper with any strength behind their wrist would've parried that out of play

Turner is just so weak, he got most of his hand to it and yet even that couldn't prevent it bouncing around the bars and back into play

And don't even get me started on his hilarious attempt to keep goal after that

Seriously, how many excuses does this guy need before people realise he's shite?

Looking at the highlights, I'm surprised he was blamed so badly during the game like it was a major individual error or brainfart.

He attempted a dive and I think got a hand to the ball. It's then down to the defenders to react instinctively.
There wasn't much of an effort to close down the initial shot

I thought he nearly let it through his fingers and should have tipped it round the post much more comfortably than what he did do. But I’ve only seen it once.
Hard to say, really. A lot of fans in the Trent End were applauding the save before the ball came back across for the goal. In this case I’m more annoyed by the amount of space we gave the bloke who broke forward and by the dozy defending after the ball hit the posts.

If Kouyate had tracked the run from Jason Knight he wouldn't have scored, what's he doing trailing three yards behind him?

If Turner wasn't already under the microscope for his mistakes all season long nobody is blaming him for that goal, we're mad at the defenders for letting the ball get recycled after it hits the post and Kouyate for his half hearted backtracking.

On the same week that Academy Graduate and former club captain Joe Worrall left the club in quite a disappointingly low-key fashion, it was nice to see a debut for the boy Gardner. I tell you what as well, he was fearless when he came on and I liked that about him. You could tell from his post-match what it meant to him and I feel like, finding the next generations of Cashys, Johnsons, Yates and Worralls who can play in the top flight and are homegrown from here, will be critical to us in the coming years no matter what. Get him a loan in the football league somewhere in the summer and see what happens with him.

The press wasn’t done correctly then Kouyate went out wide, Danilo came over and dived in and beaten which gave them the free man with loads of space to move forward and shoot. Think we struggled with just 2 CMs to start with.

Pleased Turner got his moment with the pen save - will do him the world of good going into what will hopefully be an extended period in the bench. Didn't think the first was as big an error as the Frey and Sutton either, though Sutts would know better than me on that one.

On to the next round - wasn't there and couldn't watch so I'll rely on those that were there to tell me how good/bad we were - I'll take a win whichever way we can get it though.
Downer is the MGW thing obviously, hopefully that's nothing major. Big chance for Reyna if he's out, though leaves us light on the wings again in terms of options... Suppose Divok gives us another...

Pleased he got a goal too - hopefully that kick-starts his career with us and we can get more of a return from him moving forward. Staying available for selection will be a start.

It was all a bit late for old me, being on CET time. But I woke up at the end for the penalties. We played our Get out of jail free card. Well done to all involved.
