The MoNo party is over

Re: The MoNo party

Steve Guppy, would be my guess.
Most probable outcome especially as he's already coaching the first team. At the very least I suspect he would be appointed in the interim.

Re: The MoNo party

Do we think MON will be out to replace Keane quickly? Someone external, or maybe promote Chris Cohen to the job?

What about Andy Reid?

Currently doing his Pro License and managing the Ireland U18's. Not that I know eithers coaching abilities but I think he could be a better option than Cohen.

I'm no expert, but others seem to know far more about things than me, so I just wondered.

What exactly did Roy bring to the party? Tactics? Not ever mentioned as a strong point.

Dressing room harmony? Not ever mentioned as a strong point. Possibly dressing room enforcer.

A listening post for a hard pressed manager? Close, I reckon.

Will we miss him? Not really, except, possibly, those who find him a good target for memes etc.

Think Martins synonymous for his man management skills, not so for his tactical approach, which is where Keanes input may have been. Think Keane probably presented well as a "been there & done it" type figure that automatically commands respect from the players.

Good cop bad cop to a degree, Keane did get irate with the players at times on the touchline.

Think we'll need another football brain personally.

Re: The MoNaRK party

You don’t get the feeling he wanted to be here at all, do you?

There certainly must be more to it than the official line - leaving an assistant job because you have aspirations beyond being an assistant doesn't make a whole lot of sense - he would have approximately the same chance of getting a managers job somewhere else if he carried on as assistant or not.

Unless he’s already been offered a job?

It is more important to ask "Will Martin miss him?".

Could be an option. Knows the club, loves the club but then I wonder if MON will want someone with experience in the role. Interesting to see how it pans out.

Would love to see Cohen come into the first team picture. Might not be the most tactically astute yet but long term I think he (and us) will benefit.

If him and Martin are still on good terms after his departure from Ireland it’ll be Steve Walford, always worked together

Didnt Reidy have a largely unsuccessful stint here as no.2 previously?

Let's hope not, Forest is enough of a soap opera as it is

A 6 month contract is too long. I prefer a 3 month contract and then 9 months off.
