I guess there was only room for one JL in our Premier squad. 🙄

Thanks Joe for your service over the years. You’ve given us some fantastic memories.

Don't blame him for going there. He's done everything there is to do in the Championship so there's no point putting his body through that (given his injury problems).

Won't be anywhere as demanding for him in Australia, he'll be one of the best players in that league and it'll be much better living over there than moving to Blackpool.

I hope he has a great time in Sydney and enjoys his football again, and enjoys the lifestyle there. He's earned it. All the best Joe, always welcome at the City Ground.
Hmmmm Sydney or Blackpool .... Very tough choice there.

Good luck Joe, hope you smash it and become a legend again 👍

Good luck Joe.

You played your part in getting us promoted and I for one will always be grateful for that.

He looked terrific in his first game tonight, in atrocious rain soaked game, great runs from the fight wing.
The Joe Lolley I remember
Good to hear. A cracking player on his day, blighted by injuries.

Nice to see him getting his radar back after the last two years with us smacking them high and wide.

Likable player, sad it ended here the way it did but there's worse places to play football than Sydney.

Caught a bit of Melbourne City (basically same kit and sponsor as Man City!) Vs Melbourne Victory yesterday. The standard looked pretty good so not an easy wage in the sun as I thought these older players go for. The only issue I saw was the ground was plagued by seagulls and flocks of about 10 kept flying in front of the camera.

Reports today suggest Joe was banished to the under 23s via text before he left. Disrespectful if true, especially after he played 150 times for us and got me off my seat many times.
Would be a shit way to treat a great servant (and from what I can tell, a decent bloke too). Sadly it wouldn't surprise me.

Wasn't there a bit more to it though? Or was that all a made up rumour?
There was some rumour/ innuendo that Joe was not a committed trainer. Cooper was thought not to appreciate his half-hearted commitment.

But you know how this stuff arrives with a big warning label.

Well, he does have a chronic condition which he made an issue by over training.

But as you were lol...

As you say, warning label.

Bit annoying some of our fan base seem to want to put the blame at Steve's feet for the manner of which he was told.
Especially considering the attitudes and practices of some we have working behind the scenes at the club, I cannot envision Steve dropping Joe a text and telling him to go train with 15 year olds.

It sounds like something one of Marinakis's cronies would do if I'm honest. Basically, a 'f*** off, don't want you around so leave'.
When Steve left, we got the basic announcement. When Gary Brazil left, we didn't get any acknowledgement from the club to him.

Sounds like half the places I have worked in my lifetime were they could not care less of you dropped dead tomorrow.
