The Joe Lolley Retirement

Re: Joe Lolley deserves a good ball-cupping

He has shin splints, which isn't really something which goes away, and is worse if your calves get tighter, so if he was feeling a bit stiff and getting nothing out of his full back, not much point in him playing really, save him for other days and give someone else a chance. So probably mainly tactical, but also stopping the lad getting sore.

Tbh, it neither really goes away or gets worse.

I fully expect Lolley to be starting on Saturday. Ran himself ragged against Huddersfield so deserved a rest.

Some days he just boils over, but yesterday felt he was only simmering. Still pretty useful at that temperature.

Good news it was only tactical and with it not being his day and only playing 45 minutes he will be fresher for Saturday.

Looked a bit jaded in the first half. SL did the right thing, and good that Da Costa is proving a half decent backup.

Expecting Lolley to be back on form this weekend.

After 80 minutes yesterday he was still charging around like a mad-man pressing and closing down space.

He looks fit and ready and carrying no ankle issues like he seemed to be this season.

Long may that continue.

Good player. Really good bloke. Humble. Lucky to have him.

Looks like I cursed him here. :(

It's shin splints. Can't do much to fix but rest. Could start him v Preston and take off if too bad. Better to try and get the points needed, then a good bit of rest before playoffs.

Yeah, I have them.

An absolute f***er because there’s no „cure“.

Id take him out (not literally), every time there's a break in play he's on the floor.

Good chance to give Mighten a crack, although its probably going to be Da Costa & Ameobi.

Yeah, he's had them for years, just a case of managing it, and playing through what you can, painful :( Hopefully as he didn't get too long on Tues, and has a break until we play Presventus on Saturday, the rest would have calmed it down a bit.

Think a win at Preston (no easy feat) would probably about do us for the Playoffs if we get there.
A fully fit Lolley is a match winner and if it's a case of playing him against Barnsley and Stoke or Fulham and/or Brentford, I know what i'm picking.

Personally, i'd give Nuno the majority of the game time but give Mighten more minutes as well. I think if either one of them gets a goal soon, they'll kick on.

The only really good AK signing?

Should captain the team when Daws doesn't play.

Didn't appear to want to take his man on at all yesterday. It was obvious why Sabri hooked him for Sammy yesterday, maybe he's still carrying the injury he had recently?
