Joe Lolley deserves a good ball-cupping

The young man is back to his best. Immense today.

Motm for me. Worked his socks off and was the most dangerous going forward. Had alioski all ends up. Got him subbed then set up a goal anyway

I actually couldn’t believe bielsa started him at left back. It seemed so obvious. Showed that he may not be the genius sky sports wants you to think he is

I was puzzled by the ref's response when Alioski was done yet again by Lolley, tried to wrestle him to the ground and bounced off.

Lolley had got free, but the ref had already blown for the foul. So Alioski, on a yellow card, tries to stop a Lolley break with a cynical foul - why not show him the second yellow and put him out of his misery?

As I was keeping count after the first two...I believe there were seven occasions where Alioski could have been given a yellow card. The fact he didn’t collect two defies logic.

7 goals & assists so far this season, on track for double figures in both again. Will be some achievement and seems to be timing his good form very well.

Who was the last player to do that in consecutive seasons??

Ref was a f***ing cock. Didn't give us an advantage twice when we were through and didn't bring out the yellow either time. Also didn't give us a blatant penalty.

0/10, unlike Forest, who are 10/10.

Lolley was absolutely outstanding today. He was here there and everywhere.

The thing with Lolley, the more I get to know about him as a bloke, the more respect I have for him. Especially The Athletic review.

He's had some dips in form and confidence this year on occasion but he was fantastic today, like he was against Luton.

Said a a couple months back but he was never playing badly but we knew he had another gear or two to go up to and he could be bringing it in the all important run in.

What we have now is a base of solid team work. What a platform.

Great performance from Lolley yesterday but what impressed me just as much is how he perfectly timed and squared the ball for Tyler when he could easily have buried it himself.

Proves just how much he recognised and valued the importance of that particular moment and the team spirit which clearly resonates around the dressing room right now.

Spot on... and the way he stayed on the pitch at the end and celebrated with the fans in LB and A-block too. The team spirit and togetherness amongst the players is clear to see.

Respect to Lolley, particularly, and to Tyler for that dash out of defence in the 94th minute to go and collect a ball which, by rights, they had no chance of winning.

Especially Joe who had run himself almost to a standstill over the previous 93 minutes, but still bust a gut to run 75 yards and also gave away a goal for the team.

Said the exact same thing, he's played well all season it was just that last year he was phenomenal and the start of this year we was just good and like you said we knew he had 2 or 3 more gears to go up.

Genuinely loved that moment, I was screaming for him to square it and he unselfishly did, genuinely love the bloke what a player.

I think he has reinvented himself. Teams sussed him out and pushed him out wide. He seems to have added a different dimension to his game.

Lolley at least looked dangerous tonight even if his crossing was off.

Ironically whilst SL was trying to keep players fresh for Saturday Lolley looked like he ran himself into the ground tonight trying to pull us out of the mire...

Too many changes tonight, this team revolves around its fullbacks creatively. Bong was traore, Jenks is pedestrians. The rest is history.

Thought Charlton read him well to be fair. The trademark cut in on his left peg was covered a hundred times so he reverted to a plan B simple pass to the overlapping FB.

When he comes off he's unplayable, but needs a few more strings to go up a level. Carries the weight of our attacking threat nonetheless.
