The Jack Hobbs Depreciation Thread

Had to have stitches in a head wound, apparently. Then got man of the match against Ipswich on Saturday.
Let’s hope he plays as well again against the sheep this week :p

And gets his goal. Matchwinner if I remember correctly.

Good but unlucky player.
I know he wasn't with us as long as Chris Cohen, but I think he should be accorded the same respect as Chris has received.
When fit , Jack gave of his best.
Just like Chris did!

Yep, good commited player who unfortunately had injuries problems which weren't his fault.

Be honest, I have great difficulty in dredging up any real appreciation for either, although Chris Cohen was involved in some high points in his Forest career.

Ultimately both averaged 15 games a season over a minimum of 5 seasons employment, both will have been payed a decent whack at some point, neither were really sought after either.

Without being purposely disrespectful, what is it we're respecting?

There's not even a comparison.

Jack Hobbs managed less than 50 games for Forest over a 5 year period, with only 10 appearances in 2 years in his final two years here.

Cohen managed 272 games, and more than 20 in his final two years despite injury. He won promotion with us in his first season and was a key player in our 3rd and 6th place finishes. We were doing OK until he got injured the next season. The only other time we've got close to the play-offs since was the only other time he completed an (almost) full season.

Cohen's probably our best player of the last decade in terms of contribution to the club. Hobbs is probably amongst our worst.

Hobbs falls into the Fryatt category of a complete waste.

He just happens to have a nicer face than Fryatt so people like him more.

Hats off to Hobbs. Still a red at heart, heard he was sensational today, body on the line stuff.
