The Henri Lansbury SuperThread - Sponsored by The Artist Formerly Known As Samuel

Lansbury concerns me at the moment, a few times in the last couple of games he has flown into tackles by taking an almighty swing at the ball and opposition player. If its slightly mistimed then it could be a straight red which is not too bad, but more of a worry is that he goes all Anderson Silva and shatters his leg. Its pretty much how every broken leg I have seen in amateur football has occurred. We cannot afford to lose a player as good as him.

Congratulations to LTLF for sponsoring Henri.

Top player giving his all for every minute of every game. A few wild tackles admittedly, but his athletic, springy stride must cover every blade of grass during a game.

Lansbury, Reid and Vaughan make a fantastic midfield partnership. Superb.

4-5-1 with those three in the middle, abdoun & mackie out wide & coxy up front seems like our best team atm.

What's really grabbed my eye over the last couple of games is how there's always a red shirt free in midfield, even high up the field. Which is obviously down to having a dense midfield full of quality footballers, who are able to attack and defend as one sweeping unit. Think Hull last year.

He's never been sent off for Forest.

Football is won and lost in the midfield these days. Replace Cox with a really decent striker and we have a very good 11.

Smart man, buttering him up. He has to, absolutely has to be kept around. Chris Cohen is and should be our club captain, but Lansbury's commitment on the pitch is captain-esque.

If we can keep the core of Darlow, Hobbs, Cohen, Lascelles, Lansbury, Reid and Patterson around the next couple of seasons, we could really achieve something.

Brilliant. The bounce factor already. This was, in my view, one of the BIG positives in appointing Pearce. Persuading Lansbury, Darlow, Lascelles and Pato to stay was a big factor this summer. Fawaz did his bit with new contracts as he could, Psycho is doing his bit also now. Get the rest fit and we have a Clough-esque spine with the advantage of a team that will gel without much effort. Always "just" a striker aka poacher away though.

We now have some cracking young players, and some also about breaking into the squad. I hope none of them leave during the summer, but if they do at least they'll be for decent cash, for a change. That said, I hope Fawaz takes em all away on holiday this summer and confiscates 'phones and laptops so that their agents can't get through!!

When Lansbury first signed for us didn't he say that it was because of a conversation he had with Pearce that helped him decide to come here??

Too true. The ingredients are already there. We just need a master chef to add a couple of top quality players and we have the making of an excellent team.

Pretty special to see one player lift the whole team and 20,000 people like that. As soon as he was on it felt like Forest again. Sack Abdoun and Djebbour off and pay him 50k a week... whatever he wants

How we've missed him. Such a quality player. That's the first time in months we've had a midfielder on the pitch whose putting us on the front foot and trying to make things happen.

Pay him whatever he wants to stay.

That an unfit Henri Lansbury looked the best player on the park in just a half of football told you all you needed to know about the bulk of our squad.

Looked immense. Let's hope the new manager can keep hold of him.

He gave a good interview after. Pretty much said it's been killing him watching the shit we've been serving up and wants to sort it out.

The lad is class. We looked okay in the second half largely because of his energy, strength and ability. I think we have missed him more than Reidy even.

Not sure, no Reid = no chances created, that didn't change today.
