God is punishing him for supposedly handing in a transfer request right before transfer deadline day, leaving us without the ability to buy a replacement. God is a Forest fan.

Been thinking about it quite a bit, but Vaughan's injury really does emphasise the stupidity of selling Guedioura when we did.

Yes, Guedioura wasn't on great form. But I reckon we'd be at least 9 points better off with him in the side, because we've been unsettled in midfield for a long time. He made us look at least assured.

So much dallying around with Chalobah unsuccessfully, and now Vaughan, who is out for 3 months, and now we're relying on Moussi to retain the form he's showed in the last 2 games.

So many frustrating points against lesser sides where we needed a spark to come from deep in midfield and provide us with the lift. He transferred spirit into the other players, and gave us energy we've often lacked.

Obviously important to look forward, and I trust the likes of Moussi and Jara to see us through, but hard not to look back to the months where we were desperately trying to find a solution.

I do agree it was a mistake to sell him without having an immediate replacement lined up. Vaughan is a better player for our system but obviously hasn't played enough.

Ish, hes in and out, on bench they have signed ince now though, and gued has featured on the right at times probably 4th choice for cm behind dickachoi, bannan and jedinak they tend to play 4-4-1-1 chamakh just off jerome.,

"Stupidity" kinda ignores the numerous points which have been made countless times about his previous transfer history, bad blood in the squad, and fact he wanted gone. If he'd stayed and played as bad as he did in his last game with us then we'd be 9pts worse off.

And we had Leadbitter lined up, we just couldn't agree terms.

It would have been stupidity if we had agreed the deal and thought we'd be ok. We didn't, we had to sell and tried to replace with several players. Thats not stupidity, thats just circumstance, which is common qhen several parties with different interests are involved.

The only real bad call was the Chalobah loan and, after his form last year at Watford, I can see the logic behind it.

Might be worth asking then, he has his mad moments, but we were a better team with him in it. He'd essentially be playing to win a move elsewhere too, so we could see the type of form from his first loan spell.

Although I am happy with Jara and Moussi sharing duties dependent on the opposition.

How much was the bid that was accepted for lead bitter then?

The bottom line is that selling your defensive midfield linchpin at the eleventh hour without having a replacement sorted is reckless management. We've spent months trying to fill the void from that mistake ever since. And we still haven't managed to, as we've now brought in a player with a long-term injury.

Our handling of the defensive midfield position this season may end up costing us.

Sorry but totally disagree. Anyone who's ever been involved with football or footballing people knows the false promises that get made and web agents weave. We could have easily been under the impression we were about to sign someone and that a replacement was incoming when we let Pep go. You only have to look at the Hobbs scenario as to why fans shouldn't assume they have the full picture. There's a load more possible scenarios than "bad management".

It wasn't, thats why he was lined up as a replacement but not aquired.

You said we didn't agree personal terms. So what you meant was we didn't agree personal terms OR have a bid accepted.

What did we actually do then, have his name scribbled on a bit of paper?! Perfect contingency plan.

We had bids rejected, thats having a player lined up. You're trying and warp that perception and it just makes you look silly.

I think the key word here is rejected. Pointless discussion your defence here is absurd.

No. "lined up" is preparing and executing all possible actions to aquire a player - that's what we did. Just because a 3rd party rejected the bids doesn't mean that we as a club didn't have replacements lined up, nor that we didn't do everything reasonable to aquire them.

It's only absurd to you because you cannot grasp simple realities of football and life. It is absurd however that you would lay the blame for another club not accepting an offer for a player at our door, especially when the bids we were rumoured to be offering were around the 3m mark.
