As someone who has been lucky enough to play at the city ground a number of times when I was younger and also happened to support the club I can't tell describe just how much of an amazing experience and privilege it was every single time. With that if you are still agile enough and have the money I'd urge you to get your boots on.

To be honest I’m too old and my knees are f**ked, but I’d settle for a place on the bench, and then get brought on for the last five minutes or so, because I’d absolutely clean some f***er out with a proper „reducer“.

Mind you, it’d probably be a straight-red prompting a bench-clearing brawl, but ah, whatever.

Like VP, I still cut a dashing figure in my shirt, shorts and stockings (why are they called stockings, when they are just long socks?).

Given that my last pair were binned when we had a clearout before we moved house a few years ago I'll have to see if one of my grandsons has a pair of boots that fit me - then again, I don't want to be seen wearing fuc.king yellow or florescent green boots of the type they wear, so I'll ask one of my lads.
