I thought it might have been a typo for Mark Cooper but he didn’t join Orient until later.

As a 9 year old Forest fan living in East London with an Orient-supporting older brother at the time, I would almost certainly have been at this game, not that I recall it at all.

Already knew that Neco Williams & another Forest player lived across from my sister. Just found out that Taiwo lives next door to her.

Apparently his wife was kitted from head to toe in Forest stuff and he bought all the local kids an ice cream- including my nephew & niece. Supposed to be a really nice guy.

I loved that Frank Clark team so much! Not sure what formation they were playing in that game though. I'm guessing:

I don't think that the team in the image is the one that played though. The Post of the day the game was played said that Stone had an ankle injury -

...Forest will be without Steve Stone (ankle) and Carl Tiler (knee) and Roy will join the rest of party which returned from the pre-season tour in Sweden last Friday Squad: Wright, Crossley, Lyttle, Pearce, Haaland, Cooper, Chettle, Phillips, Webb, Gemmill, Woan, Lee, Collymore, Black, Bohinen, Rosario, and Roy.

In the report in the following day's NEP the team was given as:

Forest team: Wright, Lyttle, Pearce, Cooper, Chettle, Gemmill, Roy (Woan 60), Bohinen, Lee (Rosario 60), Collymore, and Phillips.

Impressive research 👍 I did think that team looked a bit odd. The numbering was weird...and Colin Cooper playing for Orient 😄 🤣
