Probably cos Steve Cotterill is our manager at this time, and the decision to change manager is somewhat "above our collective pay-grades".

I'm a Forest fan at the end of the day, and always have been.

I've seen 20 changes of manager in my lifetime to date.

I'll probably see 20 more before I die.

I'm a Nottingham Forest fan and always will be.

In very much the same way as many many years before ND came along, my flag said "NFFC" on it.
It says "NFFC" on it today.
It'll say "NFFC" on it in 50 years' time.

I'm a Nottingham Forest fan.

And always will be.

That's why.

i admire your loyalty & dedication to Nottingham Forest so it must hurt you as much as it does me when we lose but you must be able to see that we have replaced BD with an inferior manager

We replaced Billy with a clown, who has since been replaced by a solid manager. We are where we are for numerous reasons, one of which is Billy talking himself out of his job.

That manager's left but assuming you mean Cotts, time will tell. BD's record was pretty similar after the same number of games.

He can be, because we've turned from a promotion chasing side, to a relegation dog fighting shambles. All because of his decision to get rid of Billy and bring in McClaren...

All that didn't happen this afternoon though, did it? We've had months to reflect on the mistakes made over the summer and Nigel Doughty has resigned over the issue. Until time travel is invented I think that puts the matter to bed really - what can Doughty or any other former employee do to get us points in our up-coming games?

fair comment, i hope that by the end of the season SC gets us up towards mid table playing good football and if so i will be happy to be proved wrong.

TBH it concerns me that people justify Billy's sacking because he was feisty and vocal. I have been a CEO and I expected my guys to be as passionate about the company as I was. Speaking your mind is much better than "Yes Sir". Forest is a private company not the Civil Service!

Maybe Billy went for other reasons - I don't know....BUT it is starting to look as retarded a decision as when a certain Sam Longson & a certain Manny Cussins both sacked another rather feisty and vocal manager?

Agreed again LJR.

I only hope us sacking Davies doesn't come back to bite us as he takes a competing team up to the Premier League.

And you're right about Mr. Clough's exit from the sheep.

I'd rather have a manager who is a bit cocky and confident. Brian Clough was, and so was Billy Davies!

Exactly. If the job gets done and done well, then leeway on attitude is expected.

I think as it stands we can't fully assess Cotterill.. lets not forget the position we were in when he took over, team spirit all over the place + playing pathetically, not too dissimilar to when BD took over and lets remember that we lost a fair few under him at first.. lets see what SC will do in January and hopefully bring in some of his own staff (I remember how much people on here were bringing up the importance of Billy's staff vs. SM's staff) and judge him after that..

The thing that made me seriously start to think cotterill was the wrong man for the job was when he said he couldnt be critical of the performance against leeds.

Really steve? Jesus christ mate, you mustve had your eyes shut

I am all for giving Cotterill a chance.....but I would also like some honesty and transparency over the whole recent debacle. Davies was sacked (I believe) because he could not take us higher, yet we have since, like the Norwegian Blue "not so much flown as plummeted".
