Summer 2023 Transfer Window

HBB

Based on nothing but idle speculation and gut feel I think we'll see signings but only as the window gets closer to closing, the fact that so few deals have been done is, I think, down to the agents. Even if a deal is looking likely we're seeing loads about potential hi-jackings etc as the agents are trying to get higher bids, better deals elsewhere. Their interest is in maximising the earnings of their players (and their cut) so until a deal is absolutely the best possible they'll continue to push for better terms or more money or drum up interest elsewhere. As more deals do get done we'll see the options for players reduce and then they'll move. That said it doesn't close till 1 Sept so I think it'll be another month until it gets really busy. The introduction of Saudi money offering players in the twilight of their careers huge money is also a massive disruptor.

Arsenal dicking West Ham about for two weeks won’t have helped the transfer market in general. That 100m is about to get recycled.
Very true - West Ham must have several offers lined up you'd imagine off the back of getting that cash

Is Nuno Tavares an option for LWB? Looking at Arsenal’s team he won’t make their 25 man squad.

Scored 6 in 31 games in Ligue 1 for Marseille last season. Mostly played LM although he’s listed as a LB.

Two years left on his contract, valued at 18m €. 23 years old.
Is he the one that played against us in the FA Cup that Spence destroyed and got hooked off early on?

And worryingly, Sangare seems to be top of their wish-list.

Imperative we pay the release clause & get that deal over the line ASAP IMO.

I am desperately concerned about forest's lack of any decent singings in the window.
The sands of time are rapidly running out through the egg-timer of eternity.
You can almost write the script that Forest will panic at the last minute and pay over the odds for second rate has-been players, or speculative unknowns.
Other clubs have already strengthened.
The doom is come upon me
Cried the Lady of Shallot.
If Forest carry on in this way, relegation becomes a dark-cloaked spectre at season's end.

Unless Sangare is waiting for West Ham and is using us as leverage. Who knows...

Probably all sorts of shenanigans going on.
Of course he is!
Do you want to play for west Ham?
Live in London;
Established Premier League side
Played in European competitons;
Or do you want to go to NFFC?
Live in Nottingham;
Flirt with relegation;
No chance of European football (but we did win the European Champions Cup twice last century).
We won't get a look in...

Would West Ham be favourites to sign him?

Of course.

But let's not pretend that there's not positives to coming here too and we can always choose to outbid on both fee and wages.

Wet Sham have just sold their captain, and midfield engine room to Arsenal for £105m.
They haven't got a ready made replacement waiting in their 2nd string, and after flirting for a while with the bottom 6 last season, they avoided the drop and won the mickey-mouse European competition.
They have also enjoyed a few more seasons in the Premier League, been gifted a big modern stadium by the tax-payers of Britain, and have in Moyes a Prem manager with an established reputation.
I doubt we can compete on fee and wages.
We have the charismatic Cooper and the billionaire Greek owner... but we also have to beware of FFP.
I hope Sangare makes me eat my words and joins us.
But I think I shall have to make a sandwich for lunch for a while yet.

28 days till the first match. At present we have Horwath in goal and Mighten coming of the bench to change the game for us.....

My usual state of life is pessimistic so this sounds about right

I'd really appreciate it if people could summarize the nottingham post stories too. The headlines are usually highly misleading and the mobile site is an absolute state.
TL;DR:
