I just took it as a genuine question if it was a good return lol

which is fair enough.

what I actually meant was, in the context of what everyone thinks about set-piece specialists and their contribution you'd take 4 goals but you'd actually think double that over a season would be a better return in keeping with expectations and so on

Yeah I get where you're coming from, I think the perception of how many are scored is greater than the reality. The increase in overall quality of goalkeeper and the statiscal data available to them has definitely made the art of scoring from range a lot more difficult

If Awoniyi struggles, who is actually going to get the goals, can only think of Johnson and Lingard, Surridge possibly but still a big if. Creative midfielders and some more attacking players are still required.

I agree. That's why I'd like both Cornet (or an alternative if he goes to West Ham) and another forward (Dennis?).

We seem to be targeting the more proven players at this point in the window now, I really wouldn't be suprised if we see another bumper name come up.

Much quality, too many new players. It will be difficult to gel and be a proper pl club, but it would be impossible if you haven't done this. Between difficult and impossible the choice is obvious.
Between a rock and hard place, in the English vernacular.

Signed Lingard, links to Ramsey, Moreno and Carvalho. And although not experienced pros, Cornet and Dennis have Premier League experience too. There certainly seems to be a shift in focus now that we have got the younger players that we wanted in the squad in.

I aint bothered about names Raz, wanna see a bloody good team after all this razzamataz.

They better be better than we had last season, we had a bloody good team.

And I'm not having we need time anorl that malarkey. Money = pressure... deal with it.

We should come out the blocks flying with all theez superstars.

Someone needs to start creating lowlights videos of all these prospective players so we can get a more balanced view of them. Including all the misplaced passes, running down blind alleys, dawdling and caught in possession, crosses that go miles too long, failed attempts at winning free kicks, hoofs forward to no one etc.

Much being made on social media about the doubt so many new players will gel into a team, get that, but here is a thing.

The signing of new players was always going to be difficult as home based players are so over priced, personally i think the planning behind the recruitment is genius & deserves to succeed.

Williams & Hennessey, international mates of Brennan.
Dean Henderson on loan plays a big part in persuading former team mate Lingaard to join.

Taiwo, Niakhate & possibly Mangala, all well known to each other from Bundesliga.

If Carvalho & Moreno sign they will help each other in the language barrier (if they don`t speak English), then help the Spanish speaking Scarpa when he arrives from Brazil in January.

We know how easily the loan players integrated into the squad under Cooper last season, all agreed they loved it & best time of their career so far.

This really does appear to be a well thought out model of integrating a mostly new squad very quickly, as we are only introducing players from two other leagues.

Cooper always said he likes to work with a small group, it is anything but small now with forest reportedly still after so many players.
