SH still continued to do development coaching and some scouting after he left the Sadpies youth set-up. It could be that he's giving up that side of things to concentratw more on co-commentary work and punditry.Hodgey is great, if he's retiring from the commentary he'll be sorely missed.

When you listen to him on Radio Nottm it does feel at times that he knows all the positives and negatives of every player at every club, right down to youth team level.SH still continued to do development coaching and some scouting after he left the Sadpies youth set-up. Re: As yet unappointed Manager #50
So disappointed with Cooper.
Another defensive manager hired purely because of successful seasons with a club in a much better position than us.
Nothing learned.
There are a few corkers back there.Nothing learned
I was interested to see my comments. Obviously Sherwood the bear probably did turn us down and I bet he feels stupid now. Still out of work while we Lord it in the premier league. f*** him!Re: As yet unappointed Manager #50
There is no way Sherwood the bear is taking this. He’s probably out of our reach.
I genuinely believed this. I liked the idea of the new way but it was silly to start the season under Hughton. When I wrote this I had written the season off but hoped a new man would come in and build for this season. I didn’t think a total living legend would be appointed. Especially one who can play wonderwall on the guitar.Re: As yet unappointed Manager #50
To be honest I think it makes sense to get the ball rolling on Murphy’s plan anyway. Didn’t see the point of having this new club ‘identity’ and having a manager at odds with it for another season. Tge new guy comes in knowing the score and has a clear instruction. Roll the dice now.
Re: As yet unappointed Manager #50
Cooper wouldn't have been my choice (I would like us to be braver) but he is a logical choice.
Swansea ended with sour grapes, there was a reason Swansea fans weren't calling for his head whilst he was at the club - only once he had gone they decided they didn't like him. They have had a bland squad for a long time - Cooper got huge amounts from it and used the loan market very well. The depth they had was ridiculously small, to get playoffs twice in a row with the depth they had is a really big achievement.
Didn't they beat us 5-0 in the Cup with plenty of rotation? That is proper boring that.
Swansea won't achieve anything this season, and it is mainly because Cooper isn't there. He is young with a modern approach, wants players to care for the ball and improves players - that is what we want from a Head Coach, surely?
For me he is the only British coach that will fit here.
Re: As yet unappointed Manager #50
I think the media pieces about us are complete cringe. Along the lines of why would anybody go there! Forest are a real problem club. No comment about how a manager actually might be responsible for such a poor slide and form for a long time now. The easy option instead of talking rubbish against a nice guy.
For me this is a good job for whichever manager takes charge.
Never agreed with the doom-merchants that we have a poor squad. We don't. We have had poor squads and for me this doesn't come close.
We have a good spine and a lot of attacking talent. A manager that comes in and improves players will see us move up the table fairly quickly. I don't expect anything from this season but let's see individuals improve and as a result the results will too.
Not to mention a manager can come in and get fans onside very quickly with just a few positive performances.
Pretty accurate comments tgere to be fair. A lot of what y said turned out to be trueThankfully all my posts that slagged Cooper off were in the Championship thread and all got deleted when that part of the forum got wiped!
So, the only evidence I have is this...
Re: As yet unappointed Manager #50
He supposedly left Swansea because they couldn't match his ambition so why the feck will Cooper rock up at Forest.
If he does I'm already questioning his common sense / sanity.
Tbf Matt you can almost understand where people were coming from.Tbf there are some absolute bowlers at the start of this thread in hindsight. Of the first 200 posts, guess who were the most positive?
Cap and MASE. Ffs!
