He comes up in practically every current football-related thread on a practically daily basis. Come on dude, that's not a controversial statement.

Again though that's this thread. Cooper comes up regularly in many others.Only in the last two weeks.
Edit: 11th - 25th Jan no posts. 26th Jan - 5th Feb nothing, 6th Feb to 15th Feb nothing. There was then a big 3 week gap between 19th Feb and 10th March in this thread with no posts.
Haven't mentioned him much, but id make no apologies for doing so, the bloke performed a miracle to get us where we are now & brought together the football club from top to bottom. He comes up in practically every current football-related thread on a practically daily basis. I have to agree with this. I was vehemently against sacking Cooper, but the forum is becoming borderline unreadable at times with the sort of post you mention. What I'm struggling with on the forum at the moment is that there seems to be a core of established regular posters and moderators that are taking a very "We told you so" attitude - almost to the point of gloating - to our current predicament (one even admitted to Schadenfreude). Which would be fine if the majority (or even a significant minority) of the forum had been in favour of getting rid of Cooper - but that's not how I remember it at all. I'm pretty sure most of us wanted him to stay, even beyond the point where it felt inevitable which I suppose was the Fulham game. There were only a very few dissenting voices that wanted him out unequivocally at any point.

What a guy ...
I can't believe people are still posting about Steve Cooper in the Steve Cooper thread.
I mean, it's not as if, as a grown adult, I could just choose to ignore the thread.
But nah, I'll complain and keep bumping the thread instead, that'll help!

I think it's been pretty quiet on the Cooper discussion till now. The reason that there's a comparison is because Nuno has had a sufficient amount of time with the players and we've not made the progression expected. I think the only stat that goes in Nuno's favour is that we've scored more goals and have a better 'xG'.
We've lost the buzz and atmosphere at the City Ground and players/manager don't appear to be as passionate about the club. For all Coopers faults, you 100% knew that his heart was in it. I'm not calling for Nuno to be sacked, but I think its a perfectly acceptable response to be frustrated that we sacked an extremely popular manager and we're not any further forward.
The buzz had gone before Cooper left
As the second Luton goal went on you could hear it disappear like a fart on the wind.
Atmosphere was still good and fans publicly backing him all the way to the very end.
The 0-2 loss to Tottenham had a better atmosphere than practically every game since (the Man Utd victory was good though).
Sir Elton‘s original lyrics were no match for what eventually became „Candle in the wind“, it has to be said!„As the second Luton goal went in,
you could hear it disappear,
like a fart on the wind.“
I went to the Brentford game the 1-1 draw and there was defiantly a difference in atmosphere compared to what it was like last season. I think theres definately some rose tintedness to what its been like at home for the most part this season even under Cooper. Was it shite Robbie. It’s been poor for much of the season.

Everton was a later kick off so most of us were a bit pissed plus it was f***ing freezing. I would class Everton as an outlier.Maybe if you're judging it on the Stevie Cooper song.
Atmosphere at the Everton game a couple of weeks earlier wasn't good at all, and you could say the same about the Luton and Burnley games that went before. Everton game was the first time I heard chatter about getting rid on the way out (and in fairness to those who were chatting, probably the first time I thought we looked devoid of ideas, not that I wanted him gone).
I'm glad we got behind Cooper at the Spurs game though - it's no more than he deserved - but really I think the vast majority of that crowd knew, rightly or wrongly, that it was the last time we'd get to sing that song. Sad.
Were you around when I got absolute pelters for the mere suggestion that Hughton was absolutely awful and should never have been appointed in the first place? My point though is that there were very, very few of those people on here (and probably the most vocal one doesn't post any more), so the hectoring from some feels misplaced. The vast majority of us miss Cooper and wanted him to be given more time, but he doesn't need to be dragged into every conversation.
