Let's be blunt here.

Today's game turned on that Maddison punch. A clear red card.

You could see every Forest players head drop a little and see them think 'here we go again'.

They shouldn't, but they are human, and they have been fighting decisions for too long now, it's worn them down.
Small headbutt whenever two players come face-to-face = extremely violent behaviour, borderline criminal, straight red

Small punch when two players come face-to-face = it was just bants mate, let him stay on the pitch

Just quickly, and for clarity, so as to put the Sky Sports narrative to bed and stop their spin becoming reality:

A player IS allowed to make the "TV/VAR" signal - they're just not allowed to do it "excessively".

Yates is punched and asks the ref to take a look. That's not in any way excessive.

Every game you play and by watching top teams as well you can see the difference in refereeing those teams. The standard of penalties, the way they get VAR’d, the standard of bookings, the time added. It f***ing stinks. We’d have lost this game anyway as we aren’t good enough. But I’m so sick of these corrupt *****, because that is what they are.
That they don't even bother to hide it any more makes it even worse.

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know
Gibbs White gets booked for winning the ball. It’s Bentancur that follows through and makes it look like a foul.

And no need to answer this …
Why was Son not booked for diving?

And while we’re at it.
Forest dubious offside - flag goes straight up.
Spurs offside - flag stays down and they win a corner

The Danilo thing had me screaming - double standards.
How has this become a potential red card offence by the way? Kicking the ball, they do know kicking the ball involves swinging your foot at a ball and not stopping the trajectory the second contact is made. They have allowed this bull shit to happen. The bolt sending off was a consequence this sort of utter bollocks.

The Boly sending off was next level incompetence, though I've definitely 'done' someone following through on a pass/shot on more than one occasion... so while the Danilo one definitely wasnt an example of this, it can be done.

I was fuming because we got VAR replays of that but not the punch on our player. Classic 'big club' bollocks.

Or the worse tackle on CHO where there was actually a foul.

The Yates "punch" was piss weak IMO. I've no qualms with the decision given. If that had been given against us I'd have called the opposition player a fanny for going down like that.

Sad state of the modern game, but hearing Nuno post match moan about it reeked of desperation and a lack of bottle tbh.

We seem to have fallen into a general victim mentality at the club. For me that only weakens us further.

But Nuno has media obligations, he was asked the question.

Suppose he could say no comment.

Laws are laws though. It was weak but is it ok for players to go round doing that every week now? It sets a precedent.

I agree on the ‘punch’. But one week we are hearing pundits saying players are being clever and making excuses for shit behaviour. We have been called naive for not doing the same. Yates was highlighting foul play, it was a pathetic punch. But what was it? Was it foul play? Did he lash out? I honestly don’t know anymore because if it had happened the other way you can bet your bottom dollar sky would have been saying it was silly of Yates, VAR would be reviewing it. I do t know anymore. They have created all this nonsense with their silly var and their overly complicated, hard to decipher rules and interpretations.

We should have just started doing it off the ball throughout the rest of the game to highlight it. Just digging spurs players in the side every now and then off the ball.

We'd have been missing half a dozen players for the next 3 games though.

We should have just done it to highlight it. Surely we could sacrifice a few. Send Ribeiro and Matt turner on with sole instruction to go round digging people in the ribs 🤣

We would have been slating Yates rotten for doing what he did and getting sent off had it been the other way round.

Strength of punch is irrelevant. Maddison doesn't even get booked for it. Yates would have got a straight red. And we all know it.

Will the FA bother to give him a 3 game ban given that the ref (and VAR, lol) didn't see it?

That's the rules right?

right?
