Sauce salad?
Whether it's incompetence or cheating I'm not sure, it's getting ridiculous though, and the only thing you can guarantee about our games (now that we've defended set pieces well today) is that there's going to be a clear peno denied.

Come on then, which one of the usual is going to tell me that's not a peno? Did he not mean to stamp on him or push him over?

No idea how a group of people so incompetent get paid so much.

But when they're allowed to regulate themselves it's no surprise.

I think it reads a lot better if Forest lodge a complaint this week. Complaining after losing looks like whining, however complaining after a win reads better.

Not that it will make a difference, but it won't look like whining.

When the incident was playing out today, I thought ahh finally a straightforward decision for VAR to make in our favour. Then the Co commentator starts talking about, was it clear enough, did Williams make a meal of it, was he going too fast.

They kept showing the angle from behind the goal which wasn't clear, finally the angle from the other side again and at least they will call the referee to have another look.

Failure to do so was totally incomprehensible and makes VAR a complete lottery or worse a tool to aid certain sides.

I cannot think it is due to incompetence, the more and more it happens.

It will make us look like bigger cry babies.

Even when they win, they'll say, still crying about the refs. Even when they win.

If we only complain when we lose - it’s just sore losers. Can’t win!

This is a tricky one, because Williams was definitely fouled. He also dived though. That is not a natural reaction to your foot being stamped on (you either stop immediately, or hobble on then pull up or lose your footing then fall down). However, players are taught to go down now if there's contact otherwise you don't get the penalty. Nevertheless, I bet the VAR officials used that delay between contact and Neco going down as justification to uphold the refs decision. But then if Neco doesn't go down, the ref definitely doesn't give it and then VAR probably don't even look at it, or do then say the contact wasn't enough. But if the ref gave it, then VAR doesn't overturn it either. It's a Catch-22. Trouble is with these penalty decisions, the refs are too scared to make them for lower clubs and too scared not to make them for the big 6. VAR not only does everything it can to not overrule the ref, but has also made the refs worse making them indecisive thinking they have a safety net for their shitness.

Usually don't care for the victim mentality but it's hard to deny that decisions are going disproportionately against us. Officiating in this division is a joke, you do have to ask how the most competitive league in the world is in the hands of this bunch

Don't know who "they" is or why you're bothered about them.

It's only because the winners / beneficiaries don't rock the boat that we have such a high level sport / rich business governed by the lowest quality of officiating I've seen in 30 years.

I see what you're saying but for me the ankle stamp was a foul and anything Neco does or doesn't do subsequently is irrelevant and doesn't change the fact it's a foul

I refer you to Diogo Jota (Sky6 team) falling over several strides after not being touched at all against Newcastle.

Penalty.

I agree. But VAR will use anything to justify the on-field refs decision. It might as well not be there.

I get it, I hope the Clattenburg thing is BS.

The issue has been complaining after a loss, would a complaint from a win be beneficial?.doubtful.

However look at the amount of complaints from numerous teams including West Ham today.

If he still played for the scousers, that would be called „being clever“.

I'm interested to know how you can stop immediately when you're sprinting down a football pitch let alone when someone stands on your foot.

Maybe he could have put his left foot down? It's also possible the foul impacted his running stride looking at the replay. Either way, it was a foul and studs on your foot like that hurts.
