Snus use in football

Opinions?

I'm against it as seen firsthand how senior pros usage tends to push the younger ones into buying and using it, too.

Unfortunately, it's absolutely everywhere in football.

If they want to take sedatives which make them crap at their job then that's their look out I guess...

Can someone give us the rundown on Snus. I've assumed it's just nicotine pillows.

That’s what I thought and you put it between your lip and gum.

When I used to play poker a lot we’d have people travelling in from Iceland, the Faroes and Scandinavia to play and they’d hand it out to everyone as it was so cheap. It was also brilliant.

(But probably gives you mouth cancer)

Yeah, sorry about that.

It was piss funny, though. But I did tell you it wasn’t a suppository.

I remember working on a construction job in London in the mid-70s where there were a few Swedish lads on site who were on it all the time. Evidently, it was/still is(?) freely available to buy, and widely used all across Scandinavia.

People of my generation love it, specifically Zyn but it’s slightly different, but it surprises me.

And it’s used widely too, not just in sports but it is particularly popular in hockey and baseball.

Kinda same for cigarettes but there’s more hate for that than there is snus.

No need to google it as all you need to know is in the second line of the article.

At least people on this stuff aren't polluting the air breathed in by people around them like smokers, so that's a positive.

Why you would walk around with a lump of stuff in your gob that presumably makes you look like you've had a smack in the mouth, and maybe makes you dribble and talk funny, and might give you cancer is beyond me, but each to their own.

People are weird.

You misquote the doors there:

What a sheltered life I have lived.
I am going to have to some Google searching as I have never heard of this Snus until today.
I hadn't until I changed job. Then it was everywhere.

My worry is that it'll become fashionable outside of football, especially the fact it can directly lead to mouth cancer is quite alarming.

Which is worse: vaping by the under 14s, to look cool, or Snusing to copy their footballer heroes whom it seems are adopting this stupid habit.
When you have had enough of the Snus that has been in your gob, how do you dispose of the residue?
Unless it disolves away to nothing in your mouth i can foresee lots of foul, mouth mangles Snus pods being gobbed out onto the ppavements.
