Snatchday 1: Nottingham Forest Vs the PGMOL

Anybody ever seen a report on a ref after a game? Who acts as an assessor for the ref?

Is it a narrative report or a tick check list? I understand the clubs are invited to comment on the refs performance, I suppose that is covered by a non-disclosure agreement?

Why are we not told if a ref is subject to disciplinary action, such as extra training, downgrading? We can surmise on these actions, but is it ever published?

Why the secrecy?

Well according to Dermot Gallagher they aren't quite giving these, based on the last few weeks. f*** knows why. No wonder nobody knows what the hell's going on, they make the rules up as they go along. f***ing shambles.

If you listen to Dermot, you understand why referee are in such a mess. The guy finds it almost impossible to make a decision.

I have the same gripes with the FFP/PSR assessments. We get to hear why Forest and Everton have failed, but not why all the other clubs that have lost £105m+ in the last three years have passed. And why it’s ok for Bournemouth to lend themselves £71m, and Chelsea to sell a hotel to themselves for a similar amount, how much they were all allowed to write off due to Covid etc etc.

I'm new and this is my first post. It may be that It's the wrong thread ,so any advice would be graciously received. I believe it's time the fans actually got together somehow to collectively voice disapproval over the way VAR is being used.
I'll say NO Comment on the use of VAR at Everton and just say it's complete DOG SHITE and it's been going on too long.
The way Coventry were denied a famous win on Sunday should be the tipping point for all of us that follow the game and our teams . Leaving Conspiracy theories aside, I think it's fair to say that PIGmol have had enough time to implement VAR and use it for what is designed for.
It certainly was NOT designed to re referee every goal in slow motion to find any reason to not give it..
Apologies again if I've put this rant in the wrong thread.
I also acknowledge my Username probably needed more thought ..
I must add I'm not a Forest fan but I am old enough to appreciate what a great Club you follow..
Not a Derby fan but here in peace because our game needs us all to put our allegiances aside on this particular issue...
I'm hoping for positive feedback , I'm here in peace, will reveal my team but let's see how we go.. Please VAR needs to go..
Great name 👍

PGMOL Refs are assessed by a group of expert ex referees using a software system call Ref360.

Every decision in game, which is like 300 or so iirc, is rated for complexity and whether the decision was correct or not.

They listen without the crowd noise, as some way to add to the impartial observer.

A referee can appeal an assessment. That appeal is done by the panel of assessors which review any and every appealed assessment.

Some chap on the latest Dore podcast mentioned the Premier league will want us down after the tweet stunt.

No points back, Luton get a dodgy penalty in the next few games etc. I can see that viewpoint but let's see.

Just hope the team can do enough to score a few goals and make these VAR marginals immaterial.
They're pretty much doing all that already so I don't see that we've lost anything. What we've achieved is to shine a light on the unfairness and it has started something that the EPL might find hard to stop, even with their media friends pushing their narrative.

Immediate rivals getting "VAR assists" is a new card yet to be played though I think.

Anyone else left fuming at East Midlands today reporting that Forest's appeal against points deduction was conducted today. They went on to play a clip where Guardi bloody ola says there's nothing wrong with the system!!!!!!! And that was it, that was all they put on. Aaaaarrrgghh!!!

Nothing wrong with a system where you have 115 charges for serious offences and can continue to win leagues, champions leagues, fa cups, doibles, trebles etc..

Captain, you’re pretty privileged to be able to afford the time and money to attend every game.

There are many who are not in the same position and would love to attend, but sadly can’t. They’re still fans and the inference they don’t attend as they are “couch potatoes“ is perhaps a little distasteful.
Indeed. Some of us have to travel from another country to attend matches.

Ryanair charged me £250 for the last flight I took to attend a match.

£250 to hit the runway at 900 feet per minute!

If there’s gonna be one thing I’ll give EM et al credit for is that first tweet (the proceeding two tweets were good in terms of corporate style). I do not care to talk about the manner it was said, meandering about the tweet is ignoring the entire point of this f***ing sham of a process.

This whole season we’ve been complaining via official channels but did anything change? No, infact it got f***ing worse across the league. And we might pay the price for it.

This game was made by the masses, for the masses and now stolen by the few. Dictated by the .01% of cockheads with huge fat pockets.

f*** the status quo, make heads roll Forest.

Think you may hear more if we are relegated. The big man will use all the ammunition available - no hiding place.

Even after a few days I still believe that statement was ill advised and will do more harm (to us) than good. We could and possibly should be talking about a recent win, 4 points cushion from 18th and an appeal to look forward to.

Clatternburgs appointment has either ruffled some feathers at the PGMOL as he knows the dirty little secrets or they simply think he's a tart. Either way it's pissed off alot of people.
If you believe that statement will do more harm then good, then clearly you think it's corrupt as it will influence decisions.

If it wasn't corrupt or bias the statement should have no impact?

I don't know if anybody has seen a post on Twitter from a Forest fan cataloging the games where a wrong decision has cost us points........he's up to 17 games.........it includes the Boly incident (I can't believe that we would have lost with 11 players on the pitch), the Maddison punch, Sunday's 3 penalties, Liverpool & Tierney, Everton at home when we were denied a clear penalty, Newcastle ditto...........etc...........17 is half of our games so far.......no wonder our Owner thinks the PL is corrupt.
