Snatchday 1: Nottingham Forest Vs the PGMOL

I'm new and this is my first post. It may be that It's the wrong thread ,so any advice would be graciously received. I believe it's time the fans actually got together somehow to collectively voice disapproval over the way VAR is being used.
I'll say NO Comment on the use of VAR at Everton and just say it's complete DOG SHITE and it's been going on too long.
The way Coventry were denied a famous win on Sunday should be the tipping point for all of us that follow the game and our teams . Leaving Conspiracy theories aside, I think it's fair to say that PIGmol have had enough time to implement VAR and use it for what is designed for.
It certainly was NOT designed to re referee every goal in slow motion to find any reason to not give it..
Apologies again if I've put this rant in the wrong thread.
I also acknowledge my Username probably needed more thought ..
I must add I'm not a Forest fan but I am old enough to appreciate what a great Club you follow..
Not a Derby fan but here in peace because our game needs us all to put our allegiances aside on this particular issue...
I'm hoping for positive feedback , I'm here in peace, will reveal my team but let's see how we go.. Please VAR needs to go..
Welcome mate. Can I ask have have your side been on the end of many shite VAR descriptions too?

Never been a Goldbridge fan but he makes some interesting points about the mainstream media and how they have meetings with the PGMOL every 2 weeks. For me this feeds into why Sky and Talksport are so against what Forest have done.

The situations must be bad when Goldbridge is the voice of sense.

Apologies if this has already been posted on here.

The problem with most incidents of corruption is that it's almost impossible to prove. No one is stupid enough to talk about something on VAR duty or via official lines of communication. There are no brown envelopes changing hands or bank transfers leaving financial trails.

It's bias rather than corruption. I do agree with Strummer - the powers that be will view Marinakis as someone intent on gatecrashing their cosy party. He's ambitious - some would say reckless in his pursuit of success - and the power base that currently controls the system (including the PL and FA) will view Marinakis as someone to fear. Someone determined to upset the status quo. Like Brian Clough once was, hence back in 1977 the FA choosing the safe but underwhelming Ron Greenwood as England manager.

Years ago I remember reading that the UK music jndustry was concerned at The Prodigy reaching number 1 with Firestarter, and that anarchic sound just wasn't what they wanted record buyers to be listening to, which eventually resulted in Westlife being launched.

Forest are seen as a threat. We simply must not be seen as a radical who succeeds. They won't be able to control Marinakis. They prefer clubs who are happy to be yo-yo clubs, whose promotion to the PL every few years is to see them act as whipping boys for the top 6, mere opportunities to take points from. Well, Marinakis has said "f*** that." We're not just here as canon fodder for the big clubs. We have our eyes on being a big club, and elbowing one of the current big clubs out of the way.

Who knows what gets discussed privately over drinks or on ref training sessions away in hotels. I'm pretty confident we will have nothing to support this complaint about embarrassingly poor officiating other than two seasons' worth of statistics and Youtube clips that suggest we have been very hard done to, and deserve apologies.

PGMOL Refs are assessed by a group of expert ex referees using a software system call Ref360.

Every decision in game, which is like 300 or so iirc, is rated for complexity and whether the decision was correct or not.

They listen without the crowd noise, as some way to add to the impartial observer.

A referee can appeal an assessment. That appeal is done by the panel of assessors which review any and every appealed assessment.
300 decision in every game. 46 games in the football league and prem every week. How many ex refs do they have?

This is a channel with 375k subscribers so it's not small. Completely backing us to the hilt and shows that mainstream media are so out of touch/in it with the PL, a point which is actually made too on this video.

Forest really should double down on this whilst they have such a spotlight and public backing.

I don't know if the EFL does it like that.

Once upon a time, the EFL used to have two match assessors, an ex ref and an ex pro. They used to sunmit their assement along with one each from the clubs. I don't know if that's still the case.

Sky are hosting Super Sunday from Spurs for the North London Derby, so I doubt they'd be here anyway.

Edit: If that's from the 'ex-nffc' account, he's full of shit.

I think we’ll see some clubs come out of their shells once the season ends, and that’s fair enough. Forest are not doing this to get a replay or anything lol, we’d lose 3 nil .. what Forest want is positive change. So I want to see relentless tweets from Forest, constant horror and dismay from the duplicitous ***** like Neville and co… until they get it

Great point about international reffing.

And again, great to see us getting more backing and exposure.

I've obviously not been a fan of Marinakis more bludgeoning methods when it's come to stuff like recruitment, but here it seems to be working as well as can be expected.
