The point I was making is that if we don't get a left back or striker in then I'm very happy with what we have. I don't want Cohen to have to be left back but we have enough about us in other areas to really mean we only need a centre half.

Tyson wasn't played as a striker, granted boyd did score goals, dele was poor and hopefully dex will return to flick on to no-one again. I'd rather what we have now to be frank. I'd like a goalscorer though but to say Tudgay, Findley, McGoldrick and Garner won't score goals is just odd.

If any of them get a run they will score goals. I don't rule out a players ability based on the rotation system of a former manager.

yes but earnshaws form last season suffered becuase of said rotation system aswell.

not having a pop at you but I just dont see any of our current fowards making up for the 20+ goals we could be short of next season, and if lewis doesnt have the run of goal scoring form he had in the early season we could well be in big trouble

I appreciate Earnshaw suffered too but he was no great shakes when he did play. I doubt lewis will score as many as last year but the first xi is better than last year so i expect goals from all round and more chances created for the strikers we do have.

the only other thing earnshaw had over our other strikers was the importance of his goals, he had a knack of scoring in high pressure situations, and scored us alot of goals that won us points. cardiff and derby spring to mind, and lets not forget his contribution to the 2nd leg of the play offs, and im sure theres other games that I cant quite bring to mind atm

and the flip side to that look at the awefull misses the players expected to do a job for us last season had that could of turned games for us and won us games or given us a point. tudgay at leeds again springs to mind blackstock penalty against millwall (given that earnshaw fluffed his fair share of these) but I honestly do think we need a proven goalscorer
