Anyone remember Mason Bennett ? Debuted at 15 around the time Will Hughes came. Bennett is 22 now and just not developed.

Was he not supposed to be the next big thing () for them?

They just don’t seem to develop their young players into their first team, preferring instead to go out and buy.

Played against players like that myself... they are essentially men strengthwise when the rest are boys... which means they stand out.... they then get pushed and pushed and eventually fall to the wayside as others catch up and fly past because they havent been able to rely on strength.

Id be pretty confident that if you looked at the youngest scorers or appearance makers for all 92 clubs... 90% you'd say either "who?" or "i remember him.... whatever happened to him?"

Its usually how it works.
