Sean O'Driscoll was a 'cultural' fit.

I think he will get it right given time, he definatly will get the best out of Sharp a striker who could net us 25+goals this season and we haven't had that for a while. He needs to work on his media skills though as some of his post match interviews are poor and lack a bit of passion . Overall though definatly the right manager for Forest.

There have been many comments regarding the back four not being the first choice and people being out injured. However, I'm really surprised Danny Collins hasn't come in for more criticism. He could have played a decisive role in stopping all 3 of Millwalls second half goals on Saturday. As captain and the most experienced defender he should also have the back four more organised no matter who is in there. Against Bolton when Halford made a mistake for their second goal, Collins wasn't checking where the man coming into the box was to stop him reaching the cross, he was ball watching and then happy to blame Halford for his initial mistake. Halford would have been all too aware of what he had done wrong. As skipper he should be there to build confidence and organise. He is fine on the ball and makes some great headers but he is not good enough in my opinion.

I completely disagree with this.

It's so refreshing to have someone who doesn't treat the fans like they know nothing and just rolls out the "passion" and cliches. He's insightful, witty and sticks to his principals. I think we've managed to get a real gem in SO'D.

lose this evening and I think the SO'D doubters will start to become more vocal. Lose this evening AND Saturday and we can expect the howling of the banshees.

They are, in my opinion, already out there in numbers just waiting for his failing to start screaming for an alternative propositon, one being WMD. I witnessed the WMD groupies in the Trent End v Sheep and again on Saturday v Millwall.

Please win tonight to keep the banshees quiet.........

f*** me, we are only 7 points off the top of the table :frantic:

...and Birmingham in 18th are only 5 points below us.
The beauty of this league is it is so open.
I know we all aspire to the Premiership, but being totally honest, don't we really prefer the fact that anyone can beat anyone in the Championship?

No.

I'd prefer to lose to Man Utd, than lose 4-1 at home to a nothing club like Milwall.

At least then you get to see some of the finest players in the world.

Most teams that go up after several years of absence really struggle.
Imagine being a Saints fan - you go along week in week out hoping to witness one of the few points your team will earn, but inevitably knowing that the return for the season might be 12 - 15...
You get to see poncey clubs financed by really rich (and I mean really rich) people who pillage every league in the world to buy up the talent.
OK - you may get to see the worlds best players, but when it is the middle of February, and it is freezing and wet and windy, and you are already a cert fro relegation and you are 4-0 down again and you rteam looks inept and the crowd are miserable... and next week will be the same...
I'm going to put on me Leonard Cohen now, sink a bottle of Captain Morgan and like the Roman Senator sit in a hot bath with my wrists slashed...

Who gives a shit about other teams? I want to see my team up there trying - no one elses. Theres plenty of success stories too, look at swansea, west brom and west ham this season- not to mention stoke.

Theres no guarantee how it will go, nothings inevitable and if youd rather see the club fail to get relegated just because "every team can beat everybody" - then the championship is going nowhere so your free to keep watching it.

Id rather be miserable knowing my team was up there, giving its all against the best teams in the world- than be sat watching forest lose at home to burnley on a cold january night.

What about Swansea? They've acclimatized nicely, and the fans can be proud of the football.

We could very easily mirror that. And whomever runs Swansea, very shrewd people. You lose Rodgers, and then you bring in, completely under the radar, Laudrup.

The Championship is a proper competition it's true, unlike the Premier League. But what's the point in entering a proper competition if you don't want to win it? I'd much rather we were in the top division, competing against the best teams and the top players.

look you are clearly from TF and following me round like a little poodle as your name suggests. please f*** off theres a good boy as i am entitled to my opinion and this is the second time you have piped up.

i genuinely am not happy with SO'D as a manager and last night i thought he was scared to try and make a change and go for the win. probably crapping himself after being smashed to pieces by a millwall side that cost about 1 tenth of what he has spent

i just do not see how someone like Lansbury cannot be given 20 minutes when cohen and gillett are first choices

What actually have Forest splashed out on this season ?, because I promise you, last seasons big wage earners remain this seasons big wage earners, the wage structure remains very much the same as in ND's years.

I cannot imagine why anyone is not happy with SOD as a manager, this season has been a breath of fresh air, not since the high days of Paul Hart's youngsters have we seen a team trying to play the ball.

It's not perfect, everyone at the club accepts the team and restructuring are work in progress. I for one am very happy to part with my pounds, to see Forest playing football, some games better than others, but accept that and will continue to attend every chance I have.

Last night was a good game, as enjoyable 0-0 draw as one is likely to get.

I honestly cannot see a large problem.

There shall always be those who live and breathe off of the here and now. Which is why the media, and not libraries, hold sway for reading material.

And while SoD has spent a bit, he also inherited a threadbare squad that had squad's shortcomings had absolutely nothing to do with him. Whether he was here last seaosn or not is immaterial. He wasn't the manager then
I think it beyond reasonable to exert much patience on this "project, as ol' AVB likes to call 'em. It is frustrating, but ultimately you don't shape a situation like this in three months unless you are ridiculously fortunate. Additonally, the mentality SoD preaches is far removed from the mentality of 80% of the managers , and probably the players as well, in this division. So, adjustments will occur.

But I don't find it frustrating, watching a team trying to and actually playing football the way I want to watch it. What I find frustrating is the fans who fail to grasp that this season performances not results count.

The team are being taught to play in a new manner, which is pleasing on the eye for the majority of the time. If some fans want, demand and are impatient for instant success, then any one with half a a brain will tell you the City Ground is not the place for it this season.

Every team has an off-day - we've had ours and we need to keep that in perspective.
It was 1 game in the 46 that make up the season.
I've a truly original analogy that you were in awe of: its a marathon not a sprint.
Sweet huh? Bet you wish you'd thought of that...

I agree with most of this but its not 1 game in the 46, as you havent included that shite drearby defeat...
