Do we see a place for him in the side long term?
I find it difficult to see how O'Brien misses out as he's been superb and surely it's a matter of time before Freuler gets in the side and stays there. Then Mangala to come back who's looked pretty good so far.

He did fine he's showing bravery to put himself in those positions to score and finding space he will start converting these chances soon enough.

My take is should be horses for courses. All our midfielders have slightly different characteristics and when you add in how damn hard they had to work today I don't think anyone will not get game time...I thought we should have subbed Ryan a bit earlier-he was clearly blowing out of his backside...

Well I expected us to do that today and I have to say if I'm disappointed with one thing its that no one from the front 3 got back to support the poor midfield pair consistently enough today. That was one of the good things about Zink in that role last year....
Not sure how we handle City but if we get overrun in midfield and DeB is given a heads-up armchair ride it will be a long match!

Yes because I believe he'll start scoring important goals.... my only issue is both him and o Brien were out on their feet after 60 odd minutes, they needed replacing at that point but the pair of them covered every blade of grass

That is your opinion, mine is he was and I have played centre midfield over 1000 times in my life.

He's not at his fittest yet imo, he'll get there.
No player ever is on the first game, he will need another couple to get fully match fit. I like what I saw yesterday, he will make the grade at this level I am sure of it.
I never claimed that. Just absorb what is written and don't read in between the lines. People see football different ways, even the pro's.

I think we wrote about it early on when so many players started coming in.
If everybody plays flat out, the ability to send on five new players during the game is vital. The players who possibly might seem to expend most energy are the midfield and wingbacks, so if we can get used to switching them during the game, it will be another string to Coops bow.
Of course, injuries, poor form etc can throw out a plan like that, but it allows players to move around the pitch far more IMO.

He needs to be more clinical with his passing. Gave it away sloppily several timeS. It’s his ability (or rather the lack of) with the ball that concerns me. Needs too much time on it.Bear in mind that Yates has only just come back from injury too.
