Just a reminder that we signed this 'banter era' rossonero as I'd completely forgotten in all the fuss about the new manager.

Has to be a better option then Figs I'd have thought. Is he injured?

Was interested in this too.

So had a look and Cooper said this before Barnsley on him : "Rodrigo has started training but he won't be available for the weekend or maybe not games before the international break. He's got a bit of catching up to do, but that's not 100 per cent.

he was signed after the window so he had no pre-season since he had no club, might take him a few more weeks before he get up to speed. Alexander Milošević proved to be quite capable when he signed so there's decent free agents out there.

Still no idea why Alexander Milošević got f**ked off, he was quality.

There's probably something which hasn't been disclosed, may just be the player was homesick or something. But he's already left his next club after us and gone back to AIK for a third time so he doesn't seem to stay put.

These are the kind of signings we should be looking at, to compliment the Dane stat stars and lower league youth.
If he's shit, he's gone. He'll want to prove himself. Good pedigree. Obviously there's concerns over injury record but there's always going to be some risk shopping where we are/have to.

I'm looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the team.

...And here in lies the problem with the dane philosophy. Theres only so many young potential Roy Keanes out there who have not been "discovered" and available to a club like ours. So it would seem that you are going to have to take chances on a few older ones or a few crocks in the hope you can mould a squad. Problem is the old gits and crocks have come with a significant failure rate and then the keyboard warriors like us (well mainly Alf!!!) dust down their computers and launch forth about "failures" of recruitment etc when its probably the reality of the pond Forest are fishing in.

Ely is a case in point-I would say theres a 30% chance he could never hit the first team consistently because his knees have gone. But on the other hand he could be the ideal ball playing CB in a 3. Was it wrong to sign him??.

No, a few low risk, cheap signings that fill out a squad are good to have. Alf's problem is we buy expensive shit and put them I'm our first team where they fail, it's also stopped us developing our own players. This is differentvto Da Costa, Diakhaby etc etc.

Only problem is we don't know who was cheap and who was expensive. We guess.
I'm not against Ely by the way, just wanted to throw out there that theres a bit of over simplistic thinking going on with regard to signing strategy and what constitutes success.
Maybe we can simplify it further that we only want good players and no shit. If we stick to that we will be OK.

Absolutely but it's a lot more nuanced than that. Ely is a good player but there's obviously issues surrounding his fitness, so you structure a deal to take that into consideration.

Was set to play for the u23s last night but injured again. Quad this time.

The biscuitness is strong with this one.

Going to be another cracking waste of money, at least this time it's only 1 season and you'd hope low low wages.

I'd love to know the money we've wasted on perma crocks.

There must be some clause in the Physios contract that we have to one token biscuit in the squad to keep him busy.

Ready made Worrall replacement..?

Too easily injured. But sometimes you have to gamble and looking at Ely's pedigree it was.probably worth the pint that he might regain fitness. As long as we don't rely on these punts coming off towards our squad and instead see them as a bonus. I have no complaints.

I am surprised Stuart Pearce still has a contract at the club , Though I suppose it's one like Billy had years after he left.

I see that Worrall is off for a long time. Is this guy ready? I like Mbe Soh very much, but some experience will be needed at this part of the season.

He’s back in training, but when you consider how long it is since his last match, probably needs a few weeks of training (and maybe an u23s appearance or 2) before he’ll be considered. (Guess)
