As promised, here’s a video detailing everything you need to know about Rodrigo Ribeiro in less than 2 minutes for those interested. This kid is a talent, and someone Sporting supporters are gutted to be losing!

PS: Couldn't find the Rodrigo thread so thought I'd post here

So we sign this player to be our third striker and within half a training session decide we'd be better off with Chuba Akpom.

Inspiring.
Apparently he's one for the future maybe 2030 (not just another Mendes player he's trying to punt around at all). We rate him so highly that he's on loan for 6 months!

I’ve got a feeling he will surprise a few and score some important goals.
I really hope you're right - I don't expect him to be in the first team picture at all but maybe I'm just looking at his age/experience. Has anything been said as to whether he's for the first team or development squads?

Feels like he’s been signed to be in and around the first team.

It looks like the loan is to see how he adapts to us and England before making it permanent in Summer, unless I’ve misread something and we don’t have an option to buy.

I just think Nuno will know how to get the most out of a young talented Portuguese lad, it may just be wishful thinking though as we do need someone to help out up top.

Does he have a legacy of developing young players? What I've read suggests the opposite.

When this move was first mooted, I just assume he'd go into the b team.

But the way he was interviewed would suggest he was closer to the 1stvteam than that or, more cynically, that he is a PR exercise in a bare window. But I'd rather fo with the more hopeful former !

We do have an option, and according to sky people Nuno rates him highly so you're quite possibly right, given the relative fanfare from the club.

I’m pretty sure Ruben Neves was 19 when he signed for Wolves albeit in the Championship.

Digo Jota was 21 when signing for them also, I think he had a few players on the young side when at Wolves especially in the Championship, I know they generally had more experience than this lad when signing but he did improve them IMO.

Again I could be completely wrong but most complaints re Nuno and youth seems to be he doesn’t pay any attention to the academy rather than he won’t play youngsters signed for him, he seems to have a lot of faith in Murillo and Danilo for example despite them having very little experience before coming here.

He played against Man City in the champions league so I'd be surprised if he's not around the first team. We had 2 goalkeepers on the bench against arsenal and Aguilera so that's 2 spots vacated he could take

Yep.

Four or five months to look at him. He's big, can finish and looks mobile.

Can't find a single bad word to say about this. I'd happily see us make a couple of these kind of signings each window. If they are good, keep hold. If not, send them back.
To be honest this was practically wolves transfer policy while nuno was there, the whole downturn saw fosun their owners tighten the purse strings

This is a great point.

Let's be honest- you don't loan a player for the U21's. You'd have no idea whether to trigger the option to buy unless you see him in at least some action in the PL or cup surely.

Well, our manager being Portuguese as well, I'm sure he knows exactly what to expect and has a plan. He hasn't appraised me of that plan, but we'll soon find out.
