I know I'm going over old ground here somewhat, but I'm bringing up our club's lack of recognition of Peter Taylor and his work alongside Brian Clough because I have an idea in mind that might address this.
During my typical match day I enjoy walking down the Trent and round to the Brian Clough stand after getting fish and chips on Radcliffe Road, even though it would be quicker to go the other way. This is a bit of a pre-match ritual I suppose, and I think of that stretch between Trent Bridge and Lady Bay Bridge as the City Ground's very own 'Wembley Way'. It's always lively, helps to form the City Ground's great setting, and is often used for the generic shots on TV. Google maps tells me that this stretch of road/walkway (cars do go down it sometimes) is called Trentside North, but I think it'd be great if it was renamed Peter Taylor Way.
I would think the that only expense would be the raising of signs at the bases of the two bridges to recognise this (but we could make these nice and build them out of bricks or stone), and Nottinghamshire County Council would probably have to agree to it. It seems that the club's owners plan to remain at the City Ground so we might as well use part it's fine location to honour someone who was instrumental in the formation of our greatest team.
I look forward to reading any opinions on this.
