That sort of opinion is looked down upon in this forum. Very anti abdoun here. I liked abdoun.Totally agree with the comments about players not passing to Djebbour. It was so obvious. In fact Reid was the main culprit. Abdoun and Djebbour 'split' the dressing room but only because the other players were childish.
I meant to quote this, not the other. Why the unnatural hatred of a player after only a few games though?
No it wasn't?That was with Abdoun, wasn't it?
Yeah, especially when we struggled for strikers.I dont think he was given a chance...... So many folk banging the drum of pato not getting a chance this season yet i bet pato has played double the games this season that rafik did last season..... Might have been a bellend but still should have had more of a run out.

I don't think he even got close to 100 minutes in a red shirt. Why the unnatural hatred of a player after only a few games though?

Going over old ground here but selling Geddy could have made a huge difference on both Abdoun and Djebbour's Forest careers.
He seemed to be relatively popular and could have been the link to integrate them into the squad.
Seeing as there is no logical reason for selling him (as no replacement was bought, buy before you sell and all that) then I wouldn't have put it past Billy to have sold him knowing it would ostracise the other two Algerians he didn't want - therefore giving him an excuse to Fawaz not to play them.
He thought he was getting Leadbitter. Simple as that.
Pretty standard stuff from a footballer I'd say. I could imagine Lansbury saying similar.Seeing we are on the subject of Rafik Djebbour I was one of fortunate/unfortunate ones to meet Rafik. The guy is unbelievable with what he had to say. Below are the quotes he said to me at 2014 end of season awards dinner:
The English need to chill out, why can't I park my car anywhere? In Greece you can park anywhere without getting a parking ticket!
Like me who wants to play at Huddersfield and Blackpool in the winter when you are a full international?
I'm not bothered if I play or not as I'll still earn my money
The coach never signed me it was one of president friends
Forest play on the air too much I need to have it to feet or I can't perform
He said Billy Davies is hard to understand and it's his fault I won't play in Brazil for Algeria.
That's the mad world of Rafik Djebbour.

Well that's ridiculous. Buy before you sell. Everyone knows that. We had the money. Don't buy that, sorry.
Rafik Djebbour, 34, played in the French 3rd league last year. Fostiras, a historic Greek club now playing in the local Attica division (imagine something similar to a pub league) offered him 20,000 euros per year to play for them.
The only problem is that when they met him he was well above 10 kilos overweight.
TBF I've played with some ex-pros who've been similarly (or above) levels of overweight at really low levels of the football pyramid and it's scary the gulf in class even without the physical side of the game.
The close ball control is just unreal compared to the average bloke who was decent in the U16s. Ghosting past players left right and centre.
