Many thanks for the summary.

Where did Anderson and Dominguez play when they came on?
It was
Yates Danilo
Dominguez (RM/RW) MGW Anderson (LM/LW)
Awoniyi
In the 4231 after the changes (on 60 minutes).
Edit- actually it was Elanga up front for a while, Taiwo came on a bit later.

Not a concern in a friendly but one of my slight concerns with the team we played for the first 70 minutes was the general lack of leadership, if we haven't got the likes of Boly/Yates on the pitch someone is going to have to step up

Sangare looks great on the ball but still plenty of work needed to improve his game out of possession, needs to be more proactive than reactive. MGW looks better when Dominguez is on the pitch and Anderson looks like he belongs anywhere other than the bench. Good dilemma to have but I imagine there's some head scratching happening between Nuno and his staff

Few thoughts on last night -

When every £ counts and getting tickets to games is almost impossible, seeing the ground 2/3 full was disappointing. That’s on Forest - the pricing was ridiculous, also not having the fan zone open on a summers evening another mistake.
In 3 years we’ve gone from kids for a quid league games to £25 for adults at a friendly.

Unless you’ve the eyesight of a cat, you can’t see much other than the score on the new bridgford screen, no chance of the lineup etc

The first 60mins line up is probably the starting 11 as we stand. For all the signings, there’s only one change from last year - Milenkovic who looked a bloody good no nonsense CB. Should be a good pairing with Murillo who looked a bit off the pace last night. Still wouldn’t have liked to be the guy he ran over though! As we’ve a young squad who’ve now got a years more prem experience this could be a positive.

Sangare was ok - would still like to see more urgency / aggression from him if he’s to become the player we need / expect. Still the odd brain fart moment that will be pushed. Make him watch Danilo and Anderson from last night who were both up for it. Expect Anderson to be starting somewhere sooner rather than later.

Forwards / wingers were all a bit disappointing, be interested to see where silva fits? A fit T would have buried both chances he had, but we know it takes him a couple of games to get up to speed. Not sure how ready he’ll be in two weeks based on only 15 mins last night?

With no sign of worrall, Dennis, bowler, hwang last night it suggests that Nuno has made his mode up and they’ll all be gone. Is Abbott up to being the 5th choice CB?

View from upper BC halfway line is still great, bogs are a palace compared with the trent end, spacious (nobody peed on my legs!) running water and paper towels to dry your hands. I can see why the vale of belvoir set reside up here!

£6.60 for a pint on Madri.

Pitch was a PGA tour green 💚
Anderson is a weapon
Morgan played too long - get him on ice.
New keeper is massive lol him and T warming up made T look like Gareth Crooks (Sorry T)
New CB is a beauty
Murilo pinged a beauty into Callum who looked lively too
Excited - my personal choice of a 'must buy' would be a striker. There's too much that could go tits up if one or both of T and Wood gets hurt (which is fecking more than likely)

Sincere apologies to the gentleman in the bottom of the snap in case he wasn't aware the barnet was thinning a bit.

Good luck this season - strongest team and squad since mid 90s.

A decent game to watch despite the lack of quality from both sides around the box. I thought we did pretty well 2nd half and played the majority of the game in their half but the fact we gave their keeper nothing to do was a bit disappointing.

Sangare continued his strong pre-season form & looks far sharper than at any point last season. Milenkovic wasn't troubled much but looked strong & composed in everything he did. Anderson looked quality as well, the way he looks & moves reminds me of a more mobile/quicker Ross Barkley. Would like to see him play centrally & will be interesting to see how we can fit him in alongside some of our other midfield options.

Murillo had another sloppy game, more bad than good in possession and a too rash out of it. The full backs weren't great either, Williams overlapped well but often got caught the other way. Aina had a slow start and got done once or twice but got better as the evening went on, offered little going forward though.

Danilo had an odd game, at times he looked sharp & then he'd spend the next 5 minutes passing it to a yellow shirt. Elanga put in one lovely ball for Wood but mostly spent the game running the ball back to the opposition. Apart from Anderson, Dominguez & Yates also did well off the bench. Nice to see Taiwo on the pitch & he made a few nice runs but we're probably a few weeks away from the point in which his legs start working properly. Miguel is genuinely massive.

Good summary, can't disagree with any of that 👍

With Murillo -although figures of 50/60/70 mill have been banded about-he is so raw. Very limited games in Brazil then thrust into prem with numerous different partners. Despite his quality It wud be normal for him to have dip at his age and have time on bench. Not saying that will happen but he is basically learning game by game. Hopefully nuno gets him grounded and focus on the basics of defending as the basics will be what progresses him further.

I think as much as you can take from preseason games we looked pretty decent, capable of a clanger but have real game changing options to come off of the bench.

Rested key players, no psr distractions, no international tournament mid season, genuine depth of quality in the squad and every fu**er under estimating how good we can be, just like we like it, COYR!

I did notice on the (BBC predictions I think) pretty much everyone had us for the drop with mostly Leicester, Ipswich, and Brentford in tow. We really could do with another stricker to cover injuries but if everyone gives 100% mid table looks doo'able

I wish we’d learn to switch wings faster. We had loads of opportunities to switch to the opposite side but it took so long the space had gone

Speed of ball movement in possession has been one of our greatest weaknesses ever since we were promoted, we’re getting better but still way off the better quality sides.

I think if you put yourself in the position of a fan of any other club in the league you'd probably come to the same conclusion.

I mentioned this in another post but for me if you take out us and the 3 promoted teams there are no teams that stand out as obvious relegation candidates. A lot could depend on business done this month of course but at the moment that's how I see it.

A neutral would look at our league position in the last few years as well as our points tally and automatically assume we'll be down there. To be honest I look at the potential first XI at the moment and come to a similar conclusion as I can't see where the goals are coming from.

Another quick thought - no sign of Richards the other night either. Wonder if he’ll be off either loan or perm? Maybe loan until Xmas to champ?

Murillo reminds me of Pearce in pre-season.
Pearce just didn’t know how to play friendlies - his mentality didn’t allow him to play them, it was all or nothing.
I think we will see the real Murillo against B’muff

I think Nuno was quoted as saying something along the lines of him (and the others) being on their way somewhere.

Not sure the system will have done Richards any good along with his injuries... He's played left wing and wingback preseason - I don't see him getting enough time in either spot to push on, and he'll really need to this year.

The friendly against us will probably prove a good test for how you handle serious pressure. We have been surprisingly good so far in the friendlies both in high press and in what the Germans Gegenpressing. We played against Roma last night and for most of the match they could literally not bring the ball to our final third.

That's good to hear as we need a proper test, the Villareal game was quite slow paced abs y half the players didn't look match sharp. They need a test.

We're not fully fit either (it's the middle of pre-season), and we lack a large number of key players (five players from the U19 team, including two 17-year-olds, play in the friendlies), but the pressing seems to work well.

Have Forest ever been the better side when we’ve played Oly? Could be another indicator where we currently are?
