Podcasts, Blogs, and Youtube

Thought that recommendations and opinions on blogs, pods and youtube channels could do with a home. Discussions around them and links to them often litter various threads, and theres alot out there.

Garibaldi red pod always seem balanced and informative, with decent (sometimes legendary) guests
On Youtbue,Max Goodwin and Uti both have actual insight and thought but tend towards transfer news
Jamie Martin seems a good lad trying to establish a good youtube channel and media career

Matchday vlogs, i only tend to watch Dore who despite a potato camera and mic is entertaining and is infectious ( in a good way), i try and find a few away fan vlogs if weve won

I ve seen a few independents channels take in a match at the WFCG, which are usually interesting for an outsiders view: JsmHD44 has visited a couple of times
Theres others but more interested in finding new ones from anyone else
Not going to recommend ones that ive found irritating as hell (theres a few)

Edited to add list ( not recommendations) will add any others im made aware of

Not at all bothered to find blogs, vlogs, podcasts and any other ogs.

I'm quite content to allow others to wade through all that hot air and amateur photography and post it on here. Even then the task of sifting through it all is such a chore that I read few.

I know I'm quite sad, but I struggle with modern technology.

I listen to a few of them as I wear headphones a lot at work.

Garabaldi Red is entirely dependent on its guests for me. You can tell some of the ex players they have on there don't watch us all the time. I also think it's as close as we get to an official club podcast so there's an element of toeing the line I feel.

Red side of the Trent is the most genuine IMO. Four supporters who call it as they see it although a couple of them are prone to waffling a little.

1865 is decent but I can't understand why a grown man would be called 'Maradona of the Midlands' let alone have it as a nickname on a podcast. At least abbreviate it ffs.

Never watched any vlogs or YouTube channels.

I quite like the BBC radio Nottingham podcast, actually. It's a bit bland and simplistic, and everything they say is very standard and corporate and expected, but it's good-natured and cheerful, and I like that.

Garibaldi Red is OK. 1865 I find a bit teenage.

I remember listening to a different Forest podcast called 1865 like a decade ago. That was really good. Done by a guy called Rishi or something, I think.

I’ve only just started getting into podcasts and enjoy Garibaldi Red. Like Fletch-generally has really good insight and raises good points.,Passes the time when walking the dog. It normally plays a visual but can you just play audio as will then save my phone data allowance!

I don’t mind Garibaldi Red however Michael Templeton irritates me for some reason, and Darren Fletcher can waffle on. Dore on tour. I can never understand the guy. Seems like he speaks with a mouth full of marbles, however I do enjoy his match day vlogs as I get to experience the atmosphere at the CG( it’s as close as I will ever get)

I do like Jamie ( media guy) and Rads.

Max Goodwin does great scout reports. Dore on tour does live chats where you can contribute and that can be fun. Dore also gets Kevin Campbell on a few times. Jay is a great orator and if radio Nottingham or The Post don’t pick him up they are stupid. He is a ready made apprentice. He does hospital radio I believe as well.

Garibaldi red podcast is great although Gregg is far too positive all the time. I know people don’t like Birtles cause he waffles on the same point but he is far more rounded in his views in my opinion.

Rads and his dad are cool. Love it when he’s speaking to his dad on embankment reminds me going with my grandad and parking on embankment and walking in.

Than there is FFTV….. well. What I will say for it is I didn’t realise it’s more than just wolverine. Which is it’s redeeming factor. I think they have a bald bloke called Deano on and actually he’s not bad at all. However Wolverine…. Can’t do it, I can’t sit through 1 minute of it. Sorry if anyone enjoys it and he means well. But calling Bournemouth boring mouth about 20 times or putting pictures up of ted lasso when we played Leeds. Just gives me the ick

The current 1865 podcast is still the same Ritchie, afaik.

While I've sample many podcasts, I only realy listen to Garibaldi Red on a regular basis.

I dip in and out of Red Side of the Trent and 1865 podcasts.

I've never return to the others, including Forest Forever, Mist Rolling In, Forest All Over, Dore on Tour.

I find that there's too much repetition, waffle, over inflated opinion, and poor delivery.

However, I do applaud all of them for doing it and sticking at it. The fan base is diverse, and each has a set of listeners, so its each to their own.

I don't watch any of the other YouTube content from fans. It does not work for me. Although, again, I applaud them for making it, especially the younger ones who are trying to forge a career out of it for themselves.

I listen to the Garibaldi Red podcast but quite honestly it’s always a delayed version of what we already know and offers little entertainment other than when they get Fletch on.

The Radio Nottingham one (which I also listen to) is pretty dire unless they get a guest on too and whilst Colin Fray is a good commentator, he’s actually quite dull on the podcast - not as dull as the Garibaldi presenter however.

1865, Red Side of the Trent and all the others are too long, too late in being released and offer nothing other than opinion and if you come on this forum regularly then you get that in real time.

Frankly, I don’t think any of them are any good and I might just sack them off and give myself an extra 90 minutes back each week.

Agreed. Positivity is one thing but he borders on pure delusion sometimes IMO. I often listen to opposition podcasts too in their preview to our game and also their reports after and I've never come across an equivalent on their pods.

You can tell it infuriates Matt too who tries to ask him questions that might bring about a more 'balanced' answer but it gets ignored and brought back around to someone being amazing. He'd be great as a Tory politician.

Someone's pissed on Fletch's chips before this weeks Garibaldi red podcast?
I know he knows alot and watches a lot and meets famous people etc( as he'll happily tell you); and i like to listen to what he has to say, and i dont doubt hes a fan, but theres no need to make such a big deal out of a few twitter accounts and Wolverine's nonsense ( FFTV s "Dead Wood" is a recent monstrosity of a take). Still a good listen after a glorious weekend

Wolverine is a disrespectful pi55 taking tw@t. Knows f**k all about the history of NFFC.

Yeah, he had a right mood on this week.

Which is bizarre, because he's normally the voice of reason when everyone is losing their shit - and now when everyone is happy he does nothing but complain!

As one of the people that helped to reform the fan culture at Forest over the last few seasons you have to give his positivity a pass.

He does remind me a little of the guy from The Fast Show. But this is our best season since 95/96 so bring on the positivity I say.

This is the crux of it, it's essentially the same thing as scrolling thorugh this forum, just a different medium of it. Not everyone has the time or inclination to go through forums. I think it's a positive thing even if it's not everyone's cup of tea - for instance I love the match day vlogs as I live abroad and therefore have to live vicariously through them!

My favourite Forest podcast is Red Side of the Trent, really enjoy listening to those guys. Closely followed by Garibaldi Red.

I think by Tuesday after a successful weekend, ive consumed so much replays and insightful media that if your pod comes out after that its not going to give you anything new. There's plenty of space and appetite if you can get something unique out early enough to be relevant and to become well followed. Dont be a twat and force a bukake of tosh and nonsense (you know who you are ) just for clicks, now that's a waste of time.
