Josh, do you really believe your players are that good?

We have a squad that should be high mid table no problem

Because i doubt it.

This from BBC website..

"The departure means none of County's last five managers have lasted six months."
Well that just shows the pisspoor decline in standards.

"None" takes the singular of the verb, so it should read: "The departure means none of County's last five managers has lasted six months."

You can't get the bloody staff these days...it makes me so mad....

So if they are right and their managers aren't up to the job, what about whoever keeps employing these bad managers? Shouldn't they be losing their job because of their bad decision making?
If they get relegated it will e exactly what they deserve.

Meh, sod it - they'll soon run out of cash from paying off managers repeatedly and end up back in League Two again..

I for one am pleased he is gone from our fair city, did not matter if he was on the other bank of the Trent, foul man even if well balanced, carried a chip around on either shoulder. At least I can find it in myself to hope the saddies escape relegation now he has been shown the door.

Listening to uncle Colin's commentary, is very amusing.

What did he say?

It was sort of a denial that there was anything wrong and in particular said that they had dominated the game on Saterday when even by Uncle Colin's interpretation they were second best. Also showed ideas going forward didn't even talk about changing anything and when you have lost five games on the bounce you really don't want to say that to supporters!

Also at one point he said that he didn't think that Notts could get the eight points required to avoid relegation.

I have often stated my view, that petty differences aside, the city benefits from two strong clubs and on that basis I really hope that Notts get through OK.

Actually, for once I have to agree with Josh. The difference in ability between League 1 and League 2 is probably the smallest out of any of the divisions right now. Over the last 5 years, most of the sides who've got promoted from League 2 have established themselves as mid-table sides in League 1, with a few even achieving back to back promotions. I believe only 1 side in the time went straight back down?

Haven't a few of their players left though?

I thought they'd stay up this year with ease to be honest, they bossed league 2 so easily aside from (and in spite of, they still did it quite easily) that rough patch when all the manager and owner crap was going on with munto and backe. So it's surprised me with the turnover of players and how poor they have been most of the season. With Cotteril if he had stayed, they probably would be up there or abouts.

Can't stand Ince, he seems to think he is a big deal for some reason.

We was 6 points off the play offs and 6 off relegation when he was appointed..

To be fair that's not a bad position for a newly promoted club, did they sack Short and get "the gov'nor" in as they thought he'd get you into the championship?

Smithy plays football with a lad who's brother is at Notts Co etc etc, watching a game early in the season. I was talking to the lads Dad, who's considered opinion was that Inces assistant, the mild Alex Rae was given a free rein, talking and treating players like they had crawled out of the gutter.

Experienced pro's, he named Lee Hughes and John Thompson were having to form abuffer between Rae and the younger players, he predicted that these two would lose their regular places in the County side. Nasty stuff going on at the Saddies.

A few of the youth team coaches have resigned recently, so there is clearly something amiss down at the Lane.
