I am certain Love Alfa does not need me to stick up for him, but I bet £1 to a pinch of Cow Poo he was not referring to licenced drugs.

Indeed but a lot of cancer patients may be disgruntled if you were to take away their 'class a' morphine. His post goes beyond recreational missuse of drugs which is why I posted really.

I read that he took four pills to help with a chest infection. Not cocaine, not morphine but over the counter drugs to help fight an infection.

If sport is ever to be drug free then I'm sorry to say the only way to go about it is no ifs, no buts, no I was picking the kids up and forgot, but if caught game over.

Paddy Kenny was probably only having cough mixture, and I feel really sorry for him actually despite him being a twat, but it simply can't be cleaned up unless everyone knows where they stand. You should check the ingredients of everything you take every time, period. No excuses. For Rio and Uhurugu to escape bans by simply missing their tests, well they should be assumed guilty as sin. Again, the only way to go about it.

Sorry Paddy. And sorry you've only got one brow, woooooaaah Paddy.

Erm, Rio didn't escape a ban. He got banned for 8 months.

He's a silly boy and sadly deserves the ban. Ruined his career by not going to see the club doctor. I expected a 6-12 month ban and so be it. Very silly but not too bothered. The loanee kepper seems to be doing welll.

The FA/FL/whoever accepted he had made a mistake and wasn't trying to enhance his performance.

So why such a long ban? Seems odd to me.

Banned substance.

Mark Bosnich and Adrian Mutu weren't shovelling shite up their noses to aid performance.

I suppose because it then sets a warning to everyone else. Don't go to the chemist and take something before checking with the club doctor. 9 months does seem long but the players know the rules so they shouldn't be so dumb.

It's only Abel Xavier who had a longer ban (more or less) - the length is the same as for Rio who didn't fail a test, just forgot to turn up.

Has anyone else wondered what the ramifications would have been if SheffU had been promoted through the playoffs, with Kenny playing in goal for them, bearing in mind his failed test was after the Preston playoff semi final?

We would have probably been demoted and whoever we beat in the final, promoted into the prem. Didn't happen though.
