I really like him as a player, so it's a shame to see him go. If he wasn't going to be playing much, it makes sense I guess.

And he was exactly the kind of player I suggested Forest should have been targeting, rather than spunking 37m on Sangare, who frankly has yet to impress.

That's pretty solid business if we get €27m for him. It's good profit and gives us room to manoeuvre in the transfer market, and moves on a player who isn't starting in the process.
He'll be missed, but it makes complete sense as a deal.

Losing Mangala does make me nervous... I don't think he's ideal for what Nuno wants from that number 6, it was fairly evident against Bristol City that he wants someone to get on it deep, turn and spread the ball wide, Mangala has the positioning and looks after the ball better than anyone else we've got but I don't think he's a natural playmaker, just recycles well. That said, I do think he's the best in the team at the job at the moment; Danilo has tried but isn't good at the role and the jury is out on Sangare's ability to do it.

I've enjoyed watching Mangala, more so this season, but understand the logic behind selling him. Let's just hope Sangare becomes more useful, Danilo more consistent and we balance the squad with the money wisely.
